basssavage24/7
What size of line should i use for those baits that are anywhere from 16 Oz's to 30 Oz's.
zanwhite
30# is the highest I've gone, trying to cast 40# on a levelwind reel can be annoying (in my saltwater experience)
waynem
What size of line should i use for those baits that are anywhere from 16 Oz's to 30 Oz's. From 16 to 30 oz. I usually throw 80# line. Once I get up over 30 oz. I go straight to 130 pound test. No sense taking chances when that big bluefin hits! MA Frog Man

gradycodd
What are you throwing that is between 16 and 30 oz... doesn't sound like the ideal tool for Idaho bass fishing haha If you're talking for tigers go with 100# Cortland Masterbraid, there is nothing on the market better for baits that large... bigesoxlures
My 20 to 30 oz lures include the 16 inch line thru trout, the bulldawg 2 pounder and the mammoth curly sue The bulldawg and the curly are traditionaly muskie baits For braid, i use 150lb ygk lonfort oddport, baits that size arent cheap and since few are willing to cast 20 to 30 oz, they are also hard to finde Waynem, whats lures do u use that weight 30+ ounces?
