Jdutton7441
Anybody had any problems with the drag on a Tranx? I've only fished with mine once and everything was fine. Went to tak3 it out yesterday and had no drag whatsoever no matter how hard I neared down on the drag star.

David R
Can you tell if maybe the braid is spinning.. I've read of putting a little electric tape before you put the braid
bigesoxlures
Do you have any backing on your spool?
Jdutton7441
I'll have to check that in the morning. No backer. But it won't even pick up a s waver 168 off the ground while reeling.
NEbucketmouth19
Sounds to me like the braid is slipping on the spool. I always use backer and electrical tape when spooling up my reels. Low&Slow
JoshPerkins802
If you just cast it a couple times the braid will get wet enough to hold its self in place. I dont use backing, happens to me all the time. 4 or 5 casts im good.
Londonmitch
Always use backing on your spool with braid. I prefer flexx-rap tape used to preotect your thumbs when saltwater fishing but electrical tape works too. What if you get bit in your first 4-5 casts? JoshPerkins802
I wasn't saying make a cast like your your actually fishing lol. Just enough to get your line wet. Sometimes I even just drip water on it. Havent had an issue yet.

Why chance something that can be fixed in a minute with a piece of electrical tape? zsneezes and largemouth

Not saying your way can't work but it's one of those things that's worth doing before it becomes a problem.
