NewEnglandBigBaitThrower
Caught my first bass on a custom painted ms slammer. Caught another one the same size later in the night. I have been throwing big baits like this and the shellcracker but i feel like I have only been catching smaller fish (2-3 pound range) what can i do to catch bigger fish? I love the swimbait game so much! Also someone tell me something to give me confidence to throw my 7.5 battle shad out here in Massachusetts. It seems HUGE ahahaha!!! dylan628
just throw that battle shad, the worst that'll happen is you catch no fish. I went on a month skunk throwing just my hinkle shad until I caught a little 1 pound smallmouth. Just throw the bait until your arms fall off yev14 and ACE of Bass
Nick S.
Here’s a pair of 3’s that ate the Battles Shad just as good as the 6. You just have to rig it properly and fish it and it will get bit. Also retie often if you are banging it through the rocks, otherwise you will cast it off. I know that for a fact haha. tblando, zsneezes and danthefisherman
bassbass
Find a MA pond that has trout and herring. Fish that shad bait or get a bigger trout bait and fish it hard multiple times, you will get a big fish.

ACE of Bass
Move to TX or Cali!! haha! Spring fishing is tough in MA (60 one day, 80 degrees the next), I cant catch anything either right now. Slammers at night with a full moon gets it done for me. Ditto on the trout eaters. It's all relative to me, anything in MA over 5 is awesome. Anything in double digits is a record in my opinion. I think the MA record is like 15lb from like 1975. Big Baits : Hero or Zero brother! Just one more cast...

bigpoppabass
Fish that slammer on a windy lake with weeds. Peeps here always blah blah me when I say this, but a one fish day is considered a good day of sb fishing. Numbers baits are rarely lunker baits imo. Tony91723
This 3 lber ate a citizen..I was like you, I had no confidence. This was my only fish for the morning and for me it was an accomplishment. Edited September 13, 2018 by Tony91723
Harshwaters
Take that slammer and fish anytime between sundown to sunup.2 and 3 lb fish are more numerous then compared to 5 lbers.Have to weed thru them. Also maybe the waters you fish don't hold any big ones.Explore new waters possibly.
