Big Baits & Small Fish

Anybody want to share some of the times where you caught a small fish on a big bait.

For example, a one pounder on a mother? Or a 15 inch fish on a 12 inch bait?

Thought of this thread idea, because of this super skinny bass I caught on one of my gills. Honestly me and him both wished it was a real gill...

I would love to hear some of the stories.

This is a throwback for sure.  The gantarel was barely even out.  The catch was probably after they were released, but if I remember correctly I had my hands on this one a few weeks early and around that time people were paying crazy money compared to retail to get one.  That was probably one of the first youtube fish catches on one by someone in the public and on the same day one of the first on a rapala shadow rap that was freshly out ..... but we don't talk about those here.

I wasn't expecting the first one to be such a bruiser.

12” custom painted pizz slammer, tossed it next to this floating dock and it got absolutely crushed the second it hit the water, like the best looking hit in a long time, set the hook and started cranking and the rod (ldc xxh) was barely moving, thought I missed the hookset until it got close, Fish was ultra aggressive for sure. It also poured for the 3 hours we were out there, freak storm nothing in the forecast, soaked all the way thru
