Ryker Memmott
I live where all of our lakes have smallmouth. I want to try swimbaits but I don't know if they will eat it I have caught them on small s-wavers. I am wondering if I should spend the money on bigger baits. If so what should I start out with? Thankyou Stevej89
chevro1et
Have a look at the Swimbait Canada IG page, lots of pics where dudes stick big smallies on big baits. Ryker Memmott

FishDr
I've caught them on 9" Slammers, 6 and 8" Hudds, S-waver 130s, and the smaller Rising Sons. They'll definitely hit them. Ryker Memmott

Mossypumpkin
I think you just wanna appeal to their aggressive side. I know a lot of people say they’ve caught them on hudds and such, but 99% of the time I think you can be more consistent with aggressive baits. I’ve caught hundreds of swimbait smallies but few of them on soft baits. They’ll wreck a 12” slammer all day long. But few on hudds for me. And never caught a big one I don’t think on a soft bait. CaliBassin
Simple answer is yes. A lake near me kicks out 5-7 lbers all the time on swimbaits. They eat it just like largies and spots, do not hesitate to throw big baits for them. Ryker Memmott and Stevej89 1
Stevej89
The smallies have to eat too. Just because they have small mouths does not mean they wont eat swimbaits Ryker Memmott
