Well put the albino to the test and I’d say it’s pass with flying colors

fished a newer pond from 1am to 8am

fishing was great, for myself and my fishing partner

all the fish from 2.5lbs to the biggest at 4lbs 2oz, Scott had the biggest fish of the night which at boat side in of the most aggressive hits I’ve ever witnessed.

I had 14 fish on the rat and a very aggressive crappie eat it on the surface, buddy had 12 fish on my 3 piece slammer/pats clone wake.

A lot of the fish came on the twitch and pause type retrieve, or wake it for a few few feet, pause, twitch and then hook up.

at one point we went 7 casts in a row with fish in the boat.

They were all sitting on or around these submerged weed beds/lines.

Got to see some epic eats, a few where the fish actually came up and over the rat like how Caesar mentions in his video.

It was so good that 1 point we were actually calling the cast and fish, like I’m going to cast right there and get a fish, boom fish on.

I dropped or missed 8-12 fish and he missed about the same, if we had connected on all those fish we would of had close to 50 fish in the boat.

Thats scott in the pics (I don’t show my ugly mug that often!)

going back to tonight to target a different section of the lake with the same type of weed/weed lines

Scott and I Headed back out Sunday at 1130PM, packed way less gear and less baits.

We had a good thunderstorm and heavy rain come thru earlier in the day, so wasnt too sure how the night would play out.

Water temp dropped 4 degrees

We found em again, same areas, a lot less aggressive but still chewing.

Scott had 8, biggest at 3lbs 9oz all on my black pats clone/copy/rip off (whatver you want to call it)

I had 11, biggest was also 3lbs 9oz, all the albino rat. Lost two tails due to short strikes or fish grabbing the tail i guess, luckily had a few extras packed.

when we fish the moment the first guy hooks up, the other guy grabs the net and leaves his bait out there unless its close enough to get in, So i hook up, scott puts his rods down, hes about half way back on the retrieve, as the boat swings around his bait gets smashed, guess it must have twitched/moved enough to draw a strike, he grabs the rod, so hes now got the net in one hand, rod with a fish on in the other, hes able to net mine, hands me the net, and cranks his fish in and i net his! all in the pitch dark. so now theres two fish and two baits in the net going crazy, were laughing and hi fiving and just in disbelief. crazy stuff.

was a great weekend of fishing with one of best buddies.

Some more pics from the weekend

Started taking 1-2 quick pics of any fish that made it into the boat for catch time references, that’s what that list is.

The last pic is crazy, lil guy had the whole tail section, hook and tail stuffed in his mouth. Crazy how aggressive these fish can be.

You are putting the smack down on these rats man!

yeah been committing to throwing them as much as possible when it makes sense, helps the wake bait bite has been good lately, just need to stick something over 5 already this season, lots of solid healthy fish but no big girls yet.

The bone is my favorite one.

Thanks man, it’s a standard must have color for surfcasting for striped bass I’m surprised it’s so under utilized in freshwater, feel like I just started seeing baits in bone recently. I know Mike Bucca has always known and done bone colored baits but seems like guys aren’t into it for most of the baits out there
