I got the green Texas tackle pliers (large) for ultra split rings in 5-7.  They didn’t cut it for swimbait size ultra split rings. those ultra rings are serious.

There is one larger size XL Texas tackle someone might have had better luck with but l ended up going crazy and getting the HPA split ring pliers. (https://www.tunafishtackle.com/product/hpa-split-ring-pliers/)

70 bones for split ring pliers?
Overkill? Maybe. Awesome? definitely.

If you are looking for something stronger than hyper wires, but not as overkill as the ultra's, check out the spro power rings.

I use them in size 5 and 6 depending on bait size.

For comparison, size 5:

Owner hyper - 60lb

Spro power - 90lb

Owner ultra - 110lb

size 6:

Owner hyper - 70lb

Spro power - 150lb

Owner ultra - 150lb
