kaiboshi
On average 1.5-2 hrs. My favorite lakes which are in the mountains are 2.5-4 hrs. There is a fantastic reservoir not even 2 miles from my house that is very, very closed and guarded ever since 9/11 which I wish I could fish instead of doing the driving but I'd rather not get arrested. B_larkin3
I have one spot that’s 15 mins away. Everywhere else is 45 mins +

Risky reservoir full of double digit piggies you say?
lurejunkie
5 minutes if I'm willing to tolerate all of the jet skiers, water skiers, and tournament fishermen or 1 to 1 1/2 hours to fish 2 relaxing 10 hp or less lakes. I will take the drive over the ski traffic and the tournament fishermen who think they should have priority of fishing the community holes rather than first come first serve. I guess I'm a grumpy old man now but give me peace and solitude with a better chance of catching a double digit bass over a short drive. yev14
Eric Peterson
I try to keep it within an hour each way, but have made trips up to 3 hours each way.
Bass24hr
10 - 15 minutes to the Delta depending which marina to launch. 1.5-2 hr on lake trip. I fished the Delta 98% of the trip.
Mossypumpkin
Most of my spots are 20-30 minutes away. If I expand my range to 45 minutes I could probably fish 50 different spots.
Harshwaters
No more than 30 minutes. I have limited time before work so i need spots that are close.

Wasn’t surprised when I saw SE PA in your profile. I’m in the same area and Aqua seems to have closed a lot of reservoir in this area
brian1304
15 min. is the closest and about 2 hrs 15 min is the furthest.
Jay.Domingo
30-45min minimum since theres no lakes in San Francisco not counting nasty Lake Merced. Mostly fish in the San Jose area which is about 40-45min away.
azsouth
To fish lakes that actually are decent size 3-4 hours, I see that most people are really close to water. What I get for living in the desert.
rogers954
3 hr round trip for where i prefer to go. Gotta cross the state line to get to what i would consider decent fishing. Utah doesn’t really give a ish about promoting bass fishing and places and quality fishing is pretty scares unless you want to make the long trip down south where the only real giants of the state live which is about 4.5 hr drive one way. WaterWolf44
I'm 15 mins from a trophy pike lake. About 15 for great walleye. If I want tiger musky about 2 hours to the best spot
danthefisherman
About 20 minutes to my usual spot which is probably the closest body of water to me that I have open access to, don't have to pay fees, and can semi-consistently catch fish at.
