  1. A couple of repaints and acquired this BB stocker on the black market the other day. I think I'm ready for the trout season.

  2. I just wanted to share my experience with having a bait painted by a local painter mr nick that goes by The_basshole_ he is a member here on the forum and has an instagram that shows off much of his work. I've had some deals in the past with him (selling baits) and didnt even realized how much of a skilled painter he was until stumbling on his work and a mention from another bud. So i took the dive and had him paint 2 baits. I gave him a mint OG 250 wagasaki conversion and new style 250 BB stocker trout that was beat paint wise but swam amazing. Both these baits also had foil under the skin from deps which i also wanted to utilize with the paint scheme. Well we came up with some ideas of what I wanted and my main concern was getting the foil through and I wanted something that looked like a trout and with that, this is what he came up with. I'm pretty darn happy with how things turned out. Next, is making a run to DVL for the next stocking. The_basshole_ thanks for the paints, you'll be hearing from me soon when it comes to our other plans (craws, surface glide, etc)

    Cold Winter Gloves

Peeps tease me about the wrist bands I make from old pairs of 80% Merino or alpaca socks. But I swear they work well under a tight jacket cuff and contimue to insulate even when wet. Great for ice time. So when those socks get holes, chop em up.

  4. I take those thin cotton gloves put latex gloves over them so they are waterproof. I get latex gloves for free so cost effective for me.

  5. Currently on my way home (layovers suck ass) from what I will call the greatest fishery there is, Lake Baccarac. The place is unreal, from the scenery to giant bass, it's second to none. Spent 7 days on the water with a group of guys from SBU that I had never even met and let me tell you it was a trip of a lifetime. I spent most of my time throwing the bacca burrito and man did it produce. Day 1 I had 30+lb bag with a 7-7 kicker, which was the 3rd biggest bass I had ever caught at the time, all on the burrito. I was too pumped. 15 minutes into day 2, roughly 10th cast, I pull thru a patch of weeds and feel a tick. I lay into her and start cranking. Half way in Im not really sure what I have going on, that is until she started to dig and yank drag on my conquest. I knew I had to be on something good. I was so stoked when I saw it in the net. 9lb 9oz beaut. It was a great feeling. Also the first fish put on my WCZ travel board! Stuck so many fish in the 4-6lb range and they all fight like no other fish. Day 3 I put another 30+ bag with a 7-15 and also had my best day for numbers. Day 4 was filled with a lot of fish but nothing in the 7+ class. Day 5 was a great day with a 7-7 in the AM and a 30+ bag with an 8-15 burrito kicker in the afternoon. Day 6 I thought I might have had another new PB 15 minutes into the afternoon session when I got a 9-7 in the boat on the burrito yet again. Words can't describe baccarac. Other guys in the group stuck multiple 10+ fish on swimbaits and big jigs. Biggest of the trip for the group was a 12.12 on a Texas rigged senko. If you haven't gone and get the chance I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommended to everyone who enjoys fishing! I can't wait to go back again! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

  12. Well I suppose I’ll wait for Black Friday and get a Curado K. Not going to risk the T Wing. Thanks for the help, everyone. edit: I found a Lexa 300 eight the Winn grips for $133. Should I get this? This reel will be used for much more than just swimbaits(magnum cranks, other big lures) so I’m still thinking about the Curado K. Much more line capacity with the Lexa tho.

In my experience, they glide great at any speed. That’s why I like them so much, they’re very versatile.

  19. I like the fingerless wool mitts. I use them for flyfishing for steelhead an trout in the winter. They have them in gloves an the fingers fold back also.

    Shishkabab

Just bought a Hinkle from Shishkabab and it was a 10/10 transaction. Bait arrived in great shape, packaged very well in an ample sized box, and he used priority shipping. What more can you ask for from a seller?

  26. ninja ice gloves! wore em all winter in montana. they make a few diff models and they are super cheap. like 6-10 bucks a pair cheap. they last forever too. waterproof to the back of the knuckles and all the way down the palm for the cheaper model. waterproof all the way up the cuff for the most expensive. buy a few pairs and rotate em if your hands are sweating in them. won't disappoint

i honestly bet people could make big bucks off of selling hudd tail molds
    1 point
  31. Yeah there's a video on YouTube of a guy using plaster of Paris to create a mold for the tails. So he just keep making 10 inch hudd tails. Which is not a a bad idea if you tear a lot tails off.

  32. Don’t really know what to call it in the title! Turned this the other day while Turning some striper plugs. Built from AYC (Alaskan yellow cedar), epoxy heat sealed, circuit board lip and Ron Z tail. No paint yet as I wanted to test the action and joint spacing. Body is 6.5” and total with tail is 10”, weighs just about 2oz, so should finish up with paint and epoxy around 2.25/2.50oz will wake on top a slow speed and crank down 1-2’ feet depending on speed, suspends a little before rising up level. I’ll build some to suspend and float up real slow so you can fish em like a jerk bait. Will build some with a urethane style fish tail, as it would make a nice herring profile bait or small trout. Getting cold here in Rhode Island so lots more baits being built now that fishing season is winding down. Swim video on the bottom. Comments/questions always welcomed thanks-chef B47C8654-A7F9-4DB3-B8E9-222C8B0A3CC6.MOV

  33. Agree with what Wayne said It's easy to get excited about throwing a Hinkle Trout, but most guys (that i know) will throw it for a while, she doesn't get bit, then it goes back on the shelf for a while. And their XXH + Conquest 401 gets dusty in the meantime. If you have a box full of baits with varying weights - i'd be happy with the 867. Make sure you thank your pops for getting you one of the most versatile rods in the game

  34. cast it out as far as you can, then reel it back in at a slow retrieve. Do the same thing on your next cast, make it a medium retrieve. Next cast, fast. repeat 300x

    Hook size chart

Anyway we can start updating this spreed sheet again? I know you said people started posting stupid racial ish, but this thing is great and there is a lot of baits that are not listed on here that are popular baits now. Great information for myself and new swimbait anglers.
