Not that big, been having a rough year but I got a couple hudd fish from today so it pumped the moral. Going back out tomorrow to see if I can find a real pig........here piggy, piggy, piggy

Hey man, i am not hating or telling you to stop, but some people might get a little heated on posts like this. "Facebook posts" are just that, meant for facebook. Again I personally dont give a rip what you post (as long as it abides by the rules), but just a warning, some people might not like it too much.

Hit this big chain pickerel with the go2 3 piece meany in golden shiner the other day. Fish hit hard about 20 yards from the boat, fought great, thought it was a big bass the whole time, especially when it rolled and we saw the big white belly. Once it hit the net we realized it was a big chain pickerel, ended up weighing 5lbs 3oz completely swallowed the bait, luckily no damage to the bait or tail, fish swam away strong too.

Got my first decent sb fish of the year on a glitter, purple marker stripe, and bleeding joint Mod large swaver today. It was the first time I fished this bait and gave it a little shave to improve the glide. I was amazed how well it glided and wanted to suspend. I only used it because pickeral were showing themselves and I didn't want to throw my islide and workhorse. Bud is holding my fish.

Best one so far on a Hudd, no scale but 23”. Perfect spring morning!

Never did I think a 13-14" fish would get me this stoked, but after a late ice thaw (earlier this month) and continuous rain making the water chocolate milk, I finally stuck my first SB fish of the year. Now I can start hunting for that prespawn big girl.

You don’t really need a high paying job to afford those. That is only about $5000 to $6000 total if you live in Japan and can get them at releases for retail prices.

After spending years wading and watching smallmouths , I will tell ya most the time smallmouth eat from the bottom. Meaning stomach shots are the most common. My first outings for smallmouth on swimbaits was with weedless Hudds, had a killer day. Fished the weedless again and again without good success. Joe from Real Prey informed me about the smallmouth eating form the bottom and recommended bottom hooks for smallmouth. I believe the success you see in pictures above on hard baits comes from the bottom hook idea. Anglers will always be able to produce pictures of top hook caught smallmouth, but IMO it is not optimal, more of right area, right time kinda of thing. I also consider my hard bait experience for smallmouth, rarely can a 20" small even choke a Hard Gill, usually the hooks just pin the mouth shut. The smallmouth is again hitting the bait from the bottom. Joe from Real Prey is one of the experienced or simply the most experienced smallmouth bait maker out there. Look for some old footage he filmed and you will see about every smallmouth eating from below. As Rubber Daddy pointed out the Real Prey Alewife is a go to or the Real Prey Pond Shiner in bottom hooks. The first video shows in slow motion how in general smallmouth react to swimbaits.

I don't throw line thrus much anymore, but yes I felt a split rings serves both to help prevent the treble hook itself from digging into the bait as well as pushing the hook farther back for better hook up in some cases.

Still a really slow year for me, but finally Got a decent one this morning cranking the micro mink around some grass patches. She weighed 6-7, could’ve weighed a little more if she didn’t spit the trout tail out of her mouth when I got her on shore.

Its been a ruff season for me here. Finally got me a good bass this season. Water is still in the 50s caught her on top water. On my fishing partners prototype rat bait. She was 22"1/2 inches with her mouth closed. By 19 inches around thought for she got to be close to 10. She came out at 8lbs 2oz

First ever cast on the hudd, I think it is safe to say that smallies will hit hudds, infact for me personally I havn't caught a smallmouth on any swimbait other than the hudd

I think you just wanna appeal to their aggressive side. I know a lot of people say they’ve caught them on hudds and such, but 99% of the time I think you can be more consistent with aggressive baits. I’ve caught hundreds of swimbait smallies but few of them on soft baits. They’ll wreck a 12” slammer all day long. But few on hudds for me. And never caught a big one I don’t think on a soft bait.

Last year during summer i was on an early pre dawn wake jr bite off this long point next to a recreation area on my lake. this bite was so hot i had been 4 days in a row getting up at 3 am. well on the 5th day as i crept around the point to get into my best casting position i hear something that sounds like a walrus being mauled by a triceratops lol i look over and on the picnic table closest to the water i see a tiny little hispanic dude putting the root to a pretty heavy chic on the picnic table. the funniest part was he was standing on a block or brick so he could reach. lol but all in all it was kinda disgusting. they didn't notice me for at least 2 good long casts. i didn't catch any fish there that day or any more fish the rest of the summer. I'm pretty sure her monstrous orgasm noised scarrrd those fish. and they still haven't come back from deep water. lol

Last year while fishing the lower flint river for shoal bass i floated across a group shooting a big foot hoax film. guys tried to make me be part of the film where i caught a fish and bigfoot came charging out into the river after my fish.

had a run in with a mink last week while bank fishing.......its a liitle fury f$cker just like a black weasel, well i thought he looked harmless so i followed it around later that evening with my phone trying to get a picture... bad idea. they have poor eyesight like a skunk and i was able to sneek up to about 10' from it and before i knew it that little bastard exploded into a ball of screaming,lightning fast teeth and claws ! and it blasted through that 10' of cattails in about 1/2 seconds time and stopped on the tip of my shoe! needless to say my buddy fishing with me was yelling( brad you ok? ) ..... it was a freightning event. scared the sh$t out of me ! i had no idea how vicious a mink could get until then, THEY ARE MEAN ! lmao, you will not catch me f$cking around with weasels,minks, otters ferrets or anything like that--- ill put it this way....ive broke-up pitbull fights with my bare hands before with less fear than that little fury freak gave me in a split second! lol dont tease minks !!!
