Black Dog Baits' Shellcracker G2
bassfiend72 and 3 others reacted to KeepinItReelFishing for a topic
Well that took forever. Been amassing clips of this things since I got it six years ago. I knew it was special then, and the more I fished it the more I wanted to do create a video worthy of the bait. In 2012 I bought a Shellcracker G2, a Hudd 68, and a Mattlures Ultimate Gill. Seven years and hundreds of swimbaits later the Shellcracker G2, without question, makes the short list of must haves if I was forced to only keep a handful of lures. My opinion is based solely on my experience. That experience being my outcomes and relating those outcomes in terms of numeric data. Its not conjecture....the G2 has, for me, literally out fished my other small wake baits. Part of that no doubt is due to the fact that its compact (more bites from all sizes of fish), and also in part due to its ability to effectively be a crankbait and also a squarebill. But, therein lies one of the things that I'm always looking for....a bait that is competent at doing multiple things in any given cast. Even amongst long videos this is a long one. But, fear not as all the chapters/topics are time stamped in the video description and you can shoot right to those areas you want to know about and skip others (if you want). From Youtube Video description: "The Black Dog Baits Shellcracker G2 is a smartly designed, multi-function swimbait that punches higher than its weight. It performs exceptionally well in three distinctly different areas: Waking, Cover Bumping, and Cranking. Its this versatility coupled to its small, but very chunky profile that has earned this bait a stallar reputation since its release and not only a "numbers" bait, but a legit big fish bait. It is an early choice of many anglers who are starting to get into big baits/swimbaits and want something appreciably bigger than "traditional" lures, but aren't comfortable or ready for the really big baits. It is at the very top of my segue lures due to the fact that you don't need swimbait gear (rod or reel) to use it successfully. However, while it catches fish of all sizes it has developed a well earned reputation of catching more giant bass than you would expect from a lure of its size. It is without question in my select group of SUPER confidence lures as it seems to get bit when other lures in the same category are not. Call it "the juice" or the "X-factor", but something about the Shellcracker G2's design, size, sound, and action come together to make it a truly special lure." Make some popcorn and grab a beverage.....cause she's feature length!4 points -

Was gonna hold off since I added it to the other post but figured why not bc I know a lot didn’t see it. Conditions lined up perfect on a wind blown bank and third cast in she rolled on it. First time even throwing a triple trout. @Badfish562 actually had the net ready for once so thank you, Until next time4 points -

Swimbaits Inc Tsunaga Trout Floater, 8”
Harsma823 reacted to Bass_blaster for a topic
Got this a while back for $100, didn’t know it was a floater but used it for the first time today and that’s what it is(made about 5 casts or so). Painted by RBTek. Seems like it swims best with a faster retrieve so looking for something like a wake that I can work slower or something like a 316 freestyle shad(slow sink). Depending on the deal I can add cash if I need to. Fine with trades or sale. Feel free to respond openly to the thread. As a somewhat newb to the fancy swimbait game it’s hard to learn what things are worth when so many people are so secretive and do everything via PM.1 point -
Got 5 wake gills up for sale. The red gill goes under about a feet on moderate speed. The rest are wakes and can go subsurface on a fast retrieve. $50 to your door. Let me know. -Roger1 point

Keepinitreel G2 video
bigpoppabass reacted to CG_Fishes for a topic
At last the G2 video has been bestowed upon us by Keepinitreel fishing, as always the video is full of information and considers all aspects of the bait and its potential areas of use. beware of its "feature length" and be ready to get comfy and enjoy. I think we all owe Carl a little bit of love for all the time and passion he has put into this video1 point -

Anyone fishing W. Tohopekaliga??
Chuck reacted to BigOPigSlayer for a topic
Not all guides are the same.Remember they’re just working for the biggest tip possible and working the shiner rods for you will show they’re busting their ass for you.Just be direct from the beginning so he understands your needs and tell him you’re gonna take care of him $$$ regardless and you’ll be fine.Say I just wanna throw swimbaits in the morning and if you want we can dip some shiners when the artificial bite slows down/stops. He’s there to meet your needs but you need to be directive.1 point -

I think I have one and caught a fish on it. Great bait and one of the best customer service. If you dont want to pay flippers price, keep an eye out on the BM one may come up at a good price or try again on his drops or maybe get on one of his preorders. Getting one may not be instant but in time you will. Remember there is no magical bait and what may work for others may not work for you and one bait is only one tool in the tool box of many that is needed to get the job done right. Every bait that someone else is catching fish on is a hype bait, trust me you will see the hype go up and down from bait marker to bait maker. Just like the stock market, you cant time the market so dont worry about the baits, just use something you already have.1 point
