I remember the good old days when SU had a rule up in the BM that you don't come into someone's sales post and knock his prices; if you didn't like the price you just moved on with your life. Most people didn't do it anyway, just looks tacky. They should bring that rule back.

As explained earlier….that’s just one transaction. The “threshold” is $600 via g&s TOTAL. That’s the entire year. 99% of people using this site frequently are gonna sell more than that in a year. As soon as you got his paypal info you should have paid...it sounds like you delayed doing so by asking for conditions (insurance or some other concern) and someone else swooped in and got it. I always pay asap .

That’s a personal choice and personal opinion. Not crapping on this guy at all. If people wanna pay that much over retail then let them do it. I just don’t like the flipping mentality personally. For community record… I just got assed out on this on a misunderstanding and although I was probably first in line, had an existing rapport and would have matched the price it ultimately went for… a deal was struck and a sale was made & I “lost the bait” and didn’t lose my ish. I had a gentleman reach out from my post and sold me his one & only for retail whom was actually a local cat and I recently befriended… I bring this up to say retail after taxes & shipping was $147 for 1, which if I’m mathing correctly is $294 for 2… So those numbers cited were correct… and at $220 per via aftermarket is about a $60 mark up after insured shipping… ($73 before) Which isn’t ideal but not terribly out of pocket either all things considered… it is what it is. And for the record this dude in particular to whom this post belongs, wasn’t intending to sell but got in a pinch as we all do. $200+ for a Softbait is a psychological adjustment for sure, people felt like someone pissed in their entitled Cheerios @ retail… These listing prices are mild compared to the ish behind the scenes that certainly doesn’t help. I will say though that I’m grateful for another great product and option to add to my arsenal & as a dude from humble means… feeling confident having options & getting bit is priceless. The last thing I will care about when I feel that thunk or thump or bump lol is the price tag. Softbaits aren’t forever and neither is life… Hard pill to swallow or not sometimes you just gotta send it:)

You have a pretty unique situation that most users don’t find themselves in. If anyone else took 300 they would be doubling their investment at minimum. I also think that mike was addressing the people that make molds of his bait to pour their own in that context but I’m sure as long as they still sell out instantly his feelings aren’t hurt. Either way I feel like there’s people that treat SU as a place where there’s profit to be made and in my opinion it shouldn’t be that way. Not to mention the scammers that it attracts when they see what people are willing to pay over retail these days. Thats my thoughts though. I understand why people would want to flip. Just not something I support
