PB brown trout on S-Waver 120
NorthernBass4L and 8 others reacted to Brian C for a topic
I picked up a S-Waver 120 on my last tackle warehouse order because i have been having a hard time catching any decent size trout with conventional trout gear. I had been seeing a bunch of videos and pictures on Instagram that had big brows with other smaller stocker trout down their throat and it got me thinking, if I throw swimbaits for bass why wouldn't I do it for big trout too. Well after a week or so of throwing the waver around on and off I finally got one to eat. My PB brown trout at 25 1/2". Also it was dark and rainy so the picture is kinda grainy.9 points -

I think a lot of people misread this, he said soft plastic swimbait. You are going to need paint designed for it, and then there is a special clear coat that is extremely thin and flexible that holds it onto the soft plastic. What these are, I do not know.2 points

Recent Scammers
Vangerman reacted to swimbaitunderground for a topic
Seems like there have been some scammers lately. There have been 2 types 1. Long time members with good reputations from previous transactions. These guys are posting baits only taking PayPal friends and family and selling the same bait multiple times and never sending it to anybody. 2. New members answering WTB ads via PM saying their friend is selling please send them the money. (we have disabled PMs for new members as a result) SOLUTION: PAY WITH GOODS AND SERVICES ONLY. Any ads posted saying friends and family only will be deleted no matter how long the member has been here.1 point -

Night fishing for dummies… specifically me
BensBaits reacted to 168 Rookie for a topic
You have any neighborhood retention ponds? I do most of my fishing at night and these are my geberal spots; they usually don't have night fishing restrictions, just gotta worry about whether it's "residents only." Lures--the same ones will work at night that worked during the day, but wakes certainly turn up once the sun goes down. I've never fished glides at night but the TK gets bit and softies work for sure. Good luck.1 point -

Phoenix local moving sale
basskickinrednick reacted to Trevsad0313 for a topic
Not sure if this is a great way to do this but I have been out of fishing for sometime now and am packing up my apartment. I have TONS of swimbaits/misc tackle/Swimbait rods (f5 mostly) shimano tranx reels and one conquest. Drt varial handles. Photos are just snippets of some of the swimbaits. I do not want to ship and may regret that but would like to hook some locals up. I will not put up a fight with prices. Bring cash. Swimbaits will go for cheap and rod/reel combos with Drt handles a couple hundred bucks maybe. Free swimbait branded hats as well. My address is 2605 w dove valley road, Phoenix Az. If you want to drop by I will be here until 4pm apartment. Call me if you have any questions as I am packing and might not respond to message on here right away. 520-559-0985 Lots of quality stuff that’s has been just sitting. I might also make myself available tomorrow but best to get here today.1 point -

Congrats man! Nice football of a fish you got there. When I first started my big baits/swimbait only setup I got a cheap 13 fishing swimbait rod. Little stiff but they’ll throw any citizen sickle etc or anything else you could want. They have an xh and an xxh but I got the xh. Threw some very big glides on the thing and it’s held up. Are there better rods? absolutely yes, but for $80ish dollars it’s hard to beat for your first setup. Again man awesome fish and welcome to the SU!1 point

Swimbait Treble Hook Sizing VS Aesthetics & Performance
LowSpinner reacted to SumoNinja for a topic
Aesthetics should be the last thing on your priority list when looking to upgrade hardware. If it gets bit I don't care how goofy I think it looks. My main concern is water clarity and skittish fish because of my super clear waters and fishing pressure the fish are under. That and hooks bending out because of the structure in my waters i need to horse them in or risk getting wrapped around trees, vegetation and rip rap. I can't really finesse my fish in with looser drag. So I find the size and strength that matches my water and fishing style. Owner st-56 for almost all my baits. I've yet to be bent out on these so I'm sticking to them1 point -
Rafa Customs Joey Shad - Bone
BreadTooShred reacted to maine y yak for a topic
I've fished my joey shad hard right alongside my doomrider and the swims are not remotely similar to me. I like both. They are totally different. The Dr gets unstable in a cool way the Joey glides a mile with the higher ratio 300 size reel full of 20# izor. I use a 2g grenade on the back hook of the joey to level it in our 60° water right now. Got bit 3x on a very tough (for me) Little Sebago Lake which holds big fish I just haven't connected... Til today. I'm absolutely stoked on my Joey, I got mine from the hookup drop last fall and will be getting more as I can.1 point -

Alright SU I appreciate ya’ll. This cat didn’t have the decency to man up and apologize or even try and save face or explain which speaks volumes of his character… and although he claimed to have taken care of it when confronted on FB amid some vague “Mixup” he only recently like less then an hour ago if that refunded my girls cute little love you babe gift to me. Which turned out to be a total bust dealing with this buster. Had he had the balls to man up and reach out and just clarify what the heck was going on I would of went to bat for him even still… But instead multiple people reached out to him and he tried to act surprised and when the heat from ya’ll kept coming (I assume… ) he only now has responded and barely at that. He messaged me one word just now after 3wks no bait no refund no attempt to communicate just cold shoulder… and says “Refunded” He’s lucky I’m level headed enough to talk myself out of a drive to Fresno even now because this bish owes me interest on my un-consented loan. Bro if you wanted to keep the bait why waste my time. And if you’re legit, and it’s all, just a misunderstanding with USPS “mixup “ Why is the first I’ve heard of it why would it take three weeks to find out about this elusive “mixup” which includes never dropping the item off in the first place! -When you know you owe me a bait? Not a good look my guy. Not a good look at all. I hope you get right within yourself and strive to set a better example for your kids. Do Better. Praying for you.1 point -

Swimbait fishing from a kayak
Manny Mustard reacted to Jon P for a topic
I highly recommend getting a YakAttack anchor pole. I’ve been using one with my canoe and it’s about as close as you can get to power poles without spending a paycheck. I tie it off with a 6’ chunk of rope, and use it as a push pole til I get to where I want to cast. Stab it down into the bottom and just pull it up when I need to move. Hell of a lot nicer and precise-r than lifting and dropping an anchor all day.1 point
