Wanted a closer to true panfish profile bait around the size of my small fry but a bit thicker so I can get add more ballast for a better tune. So far I'm really digging it. I kept debating on scales or not. Went with no scales in the end. Got lucky on the 1st tune (never happens lol) and the action was great so made a few more to test the ratio/weight placement and was pleased. R&D continues . Lmk your thoughts so far. 20231124_124255.mp4 20231124_124205.mp46 points -

Swimbait Underground Bait Share Program-The NEW Traveling 3:16 Lure Company Baby Wake
Doomlurker and one other reacted to BigOPigSlayer for a topic
Started a new initial list for the new Traveling 3:16 Lure Company Baby Wake program and I’m going strictly by seniority/tenured Swimbait Underground members with priority over new folks. It pays to be here and stay here! I will update this list periodically and I will initially send/ship USPS Priority Mail whichever 3:16 Baby Wake is picked by the first SU member on the list and thereafter that Baby will get sent to the next one in line. If weather doesn’t permit the SU member to take the Baby now, you will standby on the list and get priority whenever you’re ready; next in line gets it until then. New SU members will get bumped down the waiting list if more tenured SU members request to join the list. Let’s all enjoy the new Traveling 3:16 Lure Company Baby Wake, catch some good fish, take pictures to share and hopefully I can convince Mickey Ellis to do a pre-order on Baby Wakes soon. It’s been too long and they catch a lot of fish for me in Florida! Initial List Of Participating Swimbait Underground Members: ============================================= 1a) aikenyounggun (SU member since 2014) 1b) justintrask (2014) 2) oh da shiz (2015) 3) mooseknuckles (2017) 4) Whammy (2018) 5) GrizzleyShad (2020) 6) NJSwimbatslinger (2020) 7) JacksonF (2021) 8) Phil A. Swimbait Underground Bait Share Program-The NEW Traveling 3:16 Lure Company Baby Wake
Swimb8 Slinger and one other reacted to justintrask for a topic
it's a shared bait. Usually one person fishes it for a week or two or three or whatever the duration is, and then once their turn is up or they are done with it, they ship it to the next person to use.2 points -

Thanks man ! That's what I'm going for forsure, a little of both for versatility, Ifish alotta ponds with my pops and his friends but they dont have setups for big swimbaits so I figured I'd make something they can throw. I'll have to send you a few once they are perfected and I get some fish on em lol2 points -

March 2023. The was a cruiser fish that was hanging out under some floating docks. The fish would come out to look at baits, then go back under the docks. The water was silted up, because just around the corner some guys were working on a boat and revving the engines throwing silt all around. I'd see glimpses of the fish in the pockets of clear water, or right as i was lifting up the bait. Made the call to go to a big profile bait, and it worked out. I got a shout out from my friend Joe Rogan on his podcast with Cliff Gray (podcast #1955 about the 1:30:20 park)1 point

Anyone going? Anything new to look out for, anything to line up early for? I don't think I have seen many post by bait makes on what they are bringing. I think I am grabbing a bottom Dweller 9" trout if I can. I have been to the last 2. I love helping out kids in need. The opportunity to talk and meet with new people, and listening to the speakers made the last 2 worth it cya there Ed1 point -

Only way to roll my bro! I will us the Shaggy song defense and say "It wasn't me." Hehe. PS. Baby wake reeled and twitched like a traditional rapala minnow accounts for my biggest 5 fish bag ever. And it was on my local pond too with super selective fish. My story is in the archive here searchable I am sure. PS1. Another tip is to avoid the marketing gimmick of walking the dog with it. I have never caught a fish doing that. The dog walk was promoted in vid as its special feature.1 point

Jig Hook Rods: Parabolic or Faster?
ra2bach reacted to monkeyonthemoon for a topic
I use the Guide Select Heavy for Sneaky Petes and other treble hook baits (Bullshooter) in the 2-3.5oz range and like it for the price. I don't have experience with more expensive rods but I have caught tons of striper up to 25lbs and I genuinely don't think I have dumped a single fish using that rod.1 point -

Does anyone know Jacob612? He needs to send me a bait
f1hook reacted to Mossypumpkin for a topic
I’ve said this here before. Once someone pays you for a bait, you’re now in possession of someone else’s property. You should be doing everything within reason to get that bait to a post office. It’s not yours. So barring an emergency, a week is excessively long to ship a bait. I do hope he’s ok! You should also be planning ahead if you are headed out on a two week cruise, prob shouldn’t be selling baits you can’t ship FYI for all the excuse makers out there, “I forgot it in my truck”, “work was busy”, and so on…..those aren’t emergencies. Those are you being lazy. I get stuck at work too, so if I miss the post office, I drive to the next town over to one that’s open later, or ask my wife to drop it on her lunch break. Because again, the bait doesn’t belong to me…..1 point -

LDC SI rod
DrewManFishing reacted to JacksonF for a topic
It’s not a typical 2-piece rod, it just has a removable butt section to make it easier to ship or transport. I don’t have any experience with this new model yet, but I just bought the 83mh today. They look really nice, all of my LDC’s have always been amazing rods with great quality, and Ben’s customer service is top notch1 point -
Jig Hook Rods: Parabolic or Faster?
Quinnadamss reacted to Mossyback Angler for a topic
For jig hooks, after trial and error, I find , I appreciate a fast tip, with straight Flourocarbon. - want as little stretch as possible for driving them thick, oversized hooks in during the hookset. - I feel the zero / minimal stretch of Flourocarbon, combined with a faster tip aids in feeling what the bait is doing, especially creeping it along. This is a question you will definitely get different opinions on. Gotta find a system that works best for you and your style of fishing.1 point -
Jig Hook Rods: Parabolic or Faster?
BoatSquirrel reacted to Dink whisperer for a topic
The Expride 8 XXH is one of the rods I use for beast hooks and it is not parabolic at all. It has a soft enough tip to sling baits a long way but it shuts off quickly. I like a really stiff rod for these hooks. Many times I'm fishing them in deep water and on long casts. That's when you need a lot of power and a fast rod to move the big chunk of plastic and get that thick gauge hook to penetrate the fishes mouth.1 point
