Got our for a bit with the Boss trying to get it tuned in and hooked up with a couple little guys. Bass went 2.5 lbs

You can make your own grenade style weights pretty easily.

Lead tape wrapped around the hook shanks, lead tape on the underside, or grenade weights, metal wire wrapped around hook shank. There are several options to try and see which u like best The easiest, that costs a little more, is to buy several size grenade weights and they clip onto hook hangers. U can put on the different sizes to get the sinkrate you desire. They clip on and off easily and is the fastest method on the go

Mode A transfer tail for when you Wana burn it fast as possible won't blow out I noticed .

Conquest 300/400 is my pick, I like the last model before the HG (no side dial control) reels are a work horse and now with the HG out the prices for like new used are stupid cheap. Especially on the Japan sites conquest 200dc hg for the smalller stuff loved my ryoga 1520 but the casting distance is awful (imho), the z2020 is also great, nice and light, higher ratio

Ok, so I now have a full day of testing in with the XH. I can honestly say that I'm VERY impressed by this rod, especially at this price point. I can confidently say that this is the perfect rod for both jig hook baits and bigger treble baits alike. I tried the rod all the way down to a 2.7oz line thru and all the way up to a 7.5oz line thru. It can definitely do the lighter stuff but you can tell it's most at home with baits above the 3oz mark. I would say that somewhere in the 8.5oz rage would be it's max just going by what I felt. It has a deep flex in the blank but it takes some effort to get it there if that makes sense. I would say it's somewhere in between fast and mod fast leaning slightly more towards fast. I did notice that it actually weighs about 3/4oz more than the XXH. I'm guessing maybe they added extra weight in the handle to get the balance better. I've attached pictures of the baits I used today for testing, the rod weight itself, the balance points with and without the reel, the reel weight by itself (Revo Beast 40 with 110 handle) and also pictures of how the rod flexes with different amounts of pressure applied to it. In conclusion, I think they outdid themselves on this rod! I like it just as much as my Blackjack and that's my favorite rod of all time. I ordered the Heavy model today with the 4th of July sale. I have high hopes for that one as my new rat/wake rod. The moderate action should do good with braid. Any questions feel free to ask. 1) Light pressure 2) Moderate pressure 3) Heavy pressure

Fished some super dirty water this morning and found a dirty little bass.

I'd love to throw my name into the ring on this. Never posted here in the building forum but have lurked and admired for a while. Most of my building is saltwater oriented as I primarily surf fish for striped bass along the northeast coast, I post a significant amount over on StripersOnline in that plug building forum. I build a few different 3 piece swimbaits in a few different sizes that are the primary baitfish imitations for our saltwater stripes, along with a few different sized hard maple darters. I'm 420 Lures in the saltwater surf plug scene.

The tug is the drug…big or little, it still makes for an enjoyable day. Them big ones will be on the line soon enough. Well done.

Ik @Mossyback Angler as a fantastic angler and as a person, we have enjoyed many talks which I’ve enjoyed and I’m looking forward to fishing with him when the opportunity presents itself. I consider mossy a friend and honest angler, while your little outburst shows ur true character and nature

Just my personal opinion and experience. Just because you know a guy that caught a bunch of big fish on it doesn’t mean anything to me because I have personally had a bad experience with the brand and will not purchase another or recommend someone else purchase one. Rod guides and tips are junk IMO. If someone likes them, then cool, I don’t and that’s cool too.
