I am new to fishing swimbaits. (started about a year ago) I am curious to have imput and see what yall have to say about some questions i have. First comes rod which i decided on my own which is the G lommis 966c IMX pro. Next is reel which i havent decided on. I am looking at the shimano tranx 300A and the Daiwa tatula 300 and im not sure which is better. I want strong, proven, reliablity, and finally casting distance. The next question then becomes Gear ratio which i know is all according to spool size and otherthings so i am really looking at the inches per turn (ipt). Its either the Tranx 300 5.8(30ipt) Tranx 300 7.6(39ipt) or the Daiwa tatula 300 5.3(28.1ipt) tatula 300 6.3(33.5ipt) or the tatula 300 7.1(37.6ipt)? Finally comes Line brand, line type, and line size. I am all ears and want feedback on everything. The baits i will be throwing will be in the 6.5 inch to the biggest for now being a deps 250 slide swimmer.

Had the pleasure of taking Ike out for a big bait trip at the end of March. He’s been wanting to get the glide bait dialed in so he hit me up for a quick trip. Hoping to get some guidance for my next reel purchase. I was going to pull the trigger on a Shimano Calcutta Conquest 201 DC but then I saw the 2018 Daiwa Ryoga 1520 and I really like the look of the reel. I already own a couple Shimano Conquests but have never owned or fished a Daiwa, so I am very interested in the Ryoga. Dug around online and did research on it and it seems that there are a few issues users have had with the reel, the plastic ring piece on side plate breaking, gap between the side plate and main frame, also a rocking side plate. I just got the overall impression that it is not as reliable as my Calcutta's. I am curious if anyone owns one and can speak on these issues with the 2018 Ryoga. Do you guys find these issues to be prevelant on these reels?? Any other problems to take into consideration? Or are they just as trusty and reliable as my Conquests?? Thanks for the help!

Hey Guys, need some cash so I'm selling some stuff that I don't need anymore Lexa 301 is in great mechanical shape, some scratches and normal wear- 100$ OG punker 6 inch, has some chips out of the paint from the previous owner... still swims like an absolute dream- 75$ 8 inch TT stubby, used once has a couple small spots out of the paint by the joint and hook-65 tater hog moonshiner, not many of these out there from what I'm aware of, sweet bait that i might keep if all else sells. wakes really well and cranks down to about 3 on a fast retrieve, has caught fish.-95 will ship tomorrow, PM me or text me at 781-771-4705 -
