  1. Ive been experimenting with this lately, I think theyre really fun to fish but the spinning gear isnt stiff enough for me. I go to twitch the bait and half the blank loads. i guess its a sign i gotta find a stronger rod or ease up a little bit, but spinning gear is awesome for the small baits for sure
  2. I apologize in advance for talking non-swim baits but I figured this is the only acceptable place to do it. Looking for a good jerkbait reel, going on the mega bass levante jerkbait rod. Preferably not over 300 bucks, but hit me with your best shot anyway I guess. Thanks
  3. Im not a fan of this one. I love the dark sleeper, but the googans tried to copy that which isn't cool. I think that it'll get plenty of kids interested in throwing bigger baits, but you wont catch me dead with one in my tackle box.
  4. I second the antidote. I have the Slower sink of the 2 models, and it takes minutes for it to hit bottom in the ponds i fish it in. Highly recommend, especially for the price
  5. Crazy to see a halibut on a hard bait!!
  6. Absolute favorite, throws everything under or around 4 ounces perfectly
  7. I've been working on a little two piece wake myself, not nearly as fancy as yours but she'll swim. I've been undecided on a color scheme, going back and forth between something natural or a bone type of paint, and I think that you've swayed me! You executed it perfectly, and I might have to even steal that 'dead' eye! looks sweet, bummer about the fish tho
  8. I think a perch color would look pretty sweet. Not like a bold slammer lookin one tho, more like one of the 316 colors
  9. Knew whatcha meant haha, you bring up a great point; Just keep fishing!
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself. It says a lot when the only other attacks on the capitol were from 9/11 and the war of 1812

If politics are gonna piss you off, stay away. I could be breaking an unwritten rule here, and if so I apologize. I didn't find anything in the guidelines regarding political discussion, and felt like the downtime part was the only appropriate place to put this. That being said.... Not trying to start any controversial arguments here, but I've just got more than a handful of political questions. Regardless of who you were rooting for in november, I'm interested to hear your guys take on the ish going down in washington. It's pretty easy to tell that the biden side is clearly against it, but for the Trump guys on here, where should the line be drawn? Supporting him with a level head and a decent reason is fine, which is the way it should be for any candidate. I guess what I'm sayin is where should the line be drawn? Because it feels like theres a solid difference between us more moderate guys and this fine gentleman: There are obviously some extremes to the situation, if it bothers you I'd encourage you not to partake. Again, I apologize if I'm violating some sort of rule, but I'm genuinely curious
  12. That counting rocks tip is gonna be pretty helpful for me, thanks for the assistance!
  13. Spro BBZ 50 rat is a pretty solid night fishing bait for me. Catches a good number of 2-5 pounders, but can still get those giant bites. Also love the big, punker style walking baits for around open water
  14. Biggest pickerel in a while, thing had some serious shoulders to it. Came on the smaller baitsanity glide
  15. Outside the swimbait world I'm something of a megabass fanatic. Nowhere near hookup tackle levels, but i could fish their jerkbaits, cranks, topwaters, etc for all eternity. It's kind of a swimbait but I really love the dark sleeper, hands down the favorite bait under six inches
  16. I think (Most) trout fisherman give a great example of how we should treat our fish, regardless of species. If you catch a true trophy, the worst thing you can do is kill it inadvertantly. Similar to what @StriperAddict was saying, it's probably a solid idea to let the fish catch their breath after being dragged around. While I'm sure some airtime and a few pictures won't directly kill them in the long run, it never hurts to treat the fish with a little bit of care.
  17. Im the same way, lots of the 90s-00s east coast stuff. Nas, Jay z, sometimes 50 cent and plenty of kanye wests early stuff. Long story short im ready to shoot someone whenever im on the water
  18. Crazy to see that this thread just passed its ten year anniversary. also funny to see how rare that bait has been. Some things never change!
  19. Might wanna make the day trip I got a fish around 5 on a spro rat last weekend! Deathly afraid of that ice though I'm damn sure its on the way
  20. Favorite part about the st 66 is the tuna strength. Just gotta bury the hook and hope for the best haha
  21. Love the Gamakatsu's. Can't beat the strength for the price
  22. Hey guys, looking for recommendations on hardware for giant stripers (20+ lbs) for the spring run on the east coast. Leaning towards some size 1 or 1/0 St 66s and the ultra wire split rings. Anything else you guys would suggest? Thanks
  23. Thats crazy, I live in Southern Ct and we usually ice up by mid december. Hoping for a warm winter though. So far so good...
  24. The bruised ego line got me lmao. I'm big in the kayak scene and whenever i end up overboard (more often than I'm willing to admit), my buddies ask what i lost, and every time my answer is simply 'my pride'
