Jrmeef88
Figured this was a good place to ask. I fish 99% heavy current for hybrid striped bass in western Pennsylvania. I have my swimbait line up pretty dialed other than glides. I’ve had success with the golden belt customs harvester and swather, as well as the GRatt sneaky Pete. But I’m trying to find more options. Ive tried a couple other glides but they tend to just blow out. Any suggestions on glides that swim well? willlliw
I fish a TK in glide mode in current, but mine is weighted to sink fairly fast so i assume a stock one would not fish as well in current. Yeah, I think a faster sink rate definitely helps keep ‘em from “washing out”. But most glides are marketed as ss so it’s hard to find that medium
BayAreaAngler
I fish the Sac river with glides in the current a Deps 250 is fishable I fish my K9 but need to add some weight for that. Most productive bait for me though on the Sac is DRT Joker. Jrmeef88
Delta_fisher
Glides in current I tend to open up the joint a bit. They aren’t going to glide evenly on a drift. browniez

More “twitchy” than “slithery”. Centrally weighted baits with only one weight point seem to consistently do better with current than counterweighted baits. Something like a Chadshad or PW vs a Phoney. The GRatt stuff is actually some of the best in current IMO. BigBaitThirty

I recently acquired a Phoney shad tho and it swims very nicely in current.

Betcha we got fairly different batches. Never had two of each swim the same. I re-weight about 50% of my PW to get them how I want. Rmayo20
IMO one piece glides do way better in current then a jointed glide. Most of the popular freshwater glides will not do well in current at all. I suggest looking into the saltwater striper bait market for that type of fishing. Maybe even a musky glide , best of luck. bassturds
I caught this fish in the salt in very heavy current on a Ds glide. It was an outflow. I left the bait swim in the current and fish smoked it. The current was much stronger when I caught that fish!
