basstastic27
Just picked up savage gear 3d line through trout 8" floater, what proud test should I use?
Swimbait_Max
I would use 20lb. But why did you get the floater? The slow sink never snags and the line thru doesn't have anywhere u can put a bottom hook

A lot of people rig their floating softbaits with a top hook, plus the floater savage gear makes runs about 6" under the surface on a standard retrieve. Luke V.
I still cant figure out why anyone's worried about the sink rate he bought? 20 lb will do you fine. The floater has no trouble hooking fish.

SwimbaitSam
i fish it with 20 lb, anymore than that and you might dull the action. Good call on the floater i love mine. i tossed on a 1/0 gamakatsu 2x for a little extra weight so it sinks at about an rof 2-3.

matt solorio
you can do 15# also. i run that thing on either 15 or 20# izor and it works just fine. if you want to get the floater to sink just a little put 3/16 oz nail weight in the center of the belly and it will sink it just a little bit. the bait will actually hover about 6" to a foot under water.
