MillerDaPikeKiller
My favorite is Shimano Calcutta 400TE with a Elk River custom rods Musky ERX 7"6" medium heavy with 50 pound Spider Wire braid.. I can cast a 3oz swimbait like a professional golfer hits a driver..

wiswimbait
50lb. Braid is stupid for big baits imo.

Harleybug
I would definately get rid of the braid. U start throwing heavy baits and ull be watching them sink to the bottom of the lake.
wiswimbait
Braid works fine but 50 to light for anything but smaller swimbaits and even then I'd use 65. For big baits I like 100#. Just my opinion though. Then again I wouldn't use a 7 and a half foot medium heavy for big pike with big baits.
tsteadyslayin
Braid on a punker. Thats it... For me.

chefjayson
I like braid for hudds! My set up Right now that I have really been enjoying is my Dobyns 795 ml Daiwa 300 and pline 25#
urbanhick
I'm partial to my 867 with a NaCl 60 at the moment. Probably my most versatile setup. That rod throws a wide range of baits and the reel while being a wide spool is easy to palm.
