I mainly fish on a cold water res next to my house which doesn't allow boats or even your feet in the water. Tons of fishing pressure. I only bring what they will be feeding on and will be most useful in the area I'm hiking that day. This is exactly what I do as well. I am a Firearms Insturctor with my department and my off days are typically when we schedule ranges. It's nice to get 10 hours of over time a day!
