brushhawg1
After a few sketches I cut out this rat profile today. I'm happy with it so far. Going to take it slow. I'm hoping it swims. Dedicated to my daughter, she was born in the year of the rat. Her Nick name is Chooters, the rat will be called The Chewter. Lakeshark
Looking like a great start to a nice rat. I enjoyed the backstory with your daughter too. As for the bill, I pretty much just eye mine up. I'll usually cut it a little longer and shorten the bill by sanding the top portion of the lexan till I like how it looks. Sawing a straight slot is challenging for me when the bait is already rounded and carved. I normally cut my slots with the bait profile square so everything is really straight. I'd put it in a vise and use a dovetail saw brushhawg1 and DoomDiver

brushhawg1
I’ve been out of the game due to some personal reasons. I realized I never posted the finished product. I wakes well and has a great squeak. Zigtherat, El_Weruso, Grizzn n bassin and 6 others
