Korbinl21
Wondering if people prefer throwing a stinger hook on their 8 inch huds or just having the jig hook. Also for stinger hook users do you connect the treble straight to the jug hook or do you have a little bit of line between the two
Rangermike
If I'm fishing it deeper and slowthen no for me. The big fish I catch have the bait so far down their throats you can't see it. Also if you hang it up (and I do there's alot of wood here) it's alot easier to get it off if you don't have a stinger. The only time I would use one is if fish are nipping at it which I see sometimes near surface or if your fishing a tournament and need the smaller 2-5 lb fish
Loganodum38
i fish 8's straight jig hook, almost all fish inhale it, dont feel a need to run a stinger but on 10" hudds, mags, and the 10" castaic boot tails i do run a stinger hook, i found single strand wire is the easiest and fail-proof way to run stingers but theres guys on here that swear by 100lb mono or braid. its important to try them all and see what you like best. stkbass
If you are fishing slower retrieves most fish about 3+ lbs will typically inhale 8" hudds if they are eating. I either bb rig or leave the jig hook.
