This giant cane way back in a ditch/creek less than 1ft of water got hung on some weeds pulled it out and the giant destroyed it this fish was 23 inches and 20 inches girth!!!

Caught my first hudd fish and new PB today in this dreary weather in East Texas. Weighed 12lbs 11oz

Went out and only caught one fish in 3 hours but it was the one i was lookin for, she went 7lbs 9oz, got that summer body on her lol

It's not Swimbait related but if admin will allow I got to watch my son reel in this 15 inch rainbow today! Best father's day gift

@Londonmitch and I got into a bunch of good ones yesterday. Here are few I caught on on the DRT K9:

Chucking the Pats Mini Gill in the heat wave! I knew they were, under the grass mats in this heat. I found a point of grass mat, and would cast beyond it, slow wake and crank down in front of it, and then use my rod twitching it down to hold it there. She was pissed I got her and wouldn’t stand still for a pic

Finally popped my cherry with the Dead Twitch. Definitely got the heart pumping when she slammed it. Can't wait to get out there and get another one.

I'm finishing up a workshop/man-shack that I built myself. This will be my spot for making lures and duck decoys. Im wondering what some of you do for storage, workbench set ups, etc. been a long process but kinda fun.

try fishing at night, the mid-day bite can be tough as fish tend to move under cover that you can't get to with most swimbaits

I think my collection is pretty well rounded now.

well as far as tuning goes, its more just hearing/seeing what others say even about tuning 250's. I plan to work on an OG so I can let you know more later. Just about everything I've learned has been searching here or YouTube. Now it will become trial and error...!

So heres the story... I am 16 and from MA. We went to come visit family in NY over the weekend and i put my swimbait rod in the car. Only rod I bring... I check google maps and see a pond 1 mi from my uncles house. I bike there and 3rd cast with a slammer my new pb. I didnt have a scale but it was the biggest bass i have caught on the east coast. (reeled one in that was bigger when i was 6 in AZ but i'm not counting that as my PB...) It was just what I needed. I think its high 5 pound range. Can someone help guesstimate? I hate having too but its how the cookie crumbled..

Take length and girth measurements next time if you can that will definitely help you figure out the weight or around what weight

A lot of guys in here will down kastking but I like them. That reel would work for those baits but if you want anything bigger you’d need to upsize your reel and it just doesn’t seem like a smart investment. I personally fish the Spartacus Maximus (all metal version) holds more line I run 2 of them and 2 of kastkings round reels In the 50 size which I love as well. Everything else sounds pretty good although if it were me I’d change the 5” bluegill for the 6” I prefer the 6 because it is a line through system verses the 5 I believe is a jig hook with a treble option on the bottom. Also you might want to consider adding a Huddleston 68 special weedless and a 6” savage gear line through trout both are solid baits and pretty cheap too. And don’t worry about the post being long most of us don’t mind reading them.

I throw Swimbaits alot and I am always getting skunked. Occasionally I throw conventional gear just so I can catch a couple. This year I've been more determined to only throw Swimbaits. I haven't caught a swimbait fish all year. I finally got my first fish last night(sunset) on my new LDC rod and first on a 3:16 wake. I woke up super early and went out again this morning and got my first 250 fish also. I should of also had my first 8" freestyle fish also but the fish got off. Feels good sticking a couple after months of nothing.

Pulled up to a spot and started bragging to a regular about a wade hogg i just got. I chuck it out about 5 yards and said “check out the wake on this thing”. 3 cranks later a decent sized flash comes up, smashes it, pulls about 2ft of line and i lose it cause the drag was 90% loose.. straight noob status. Next day i go back to the same spot, chucked it out and i see one trailing it for an eternity then speeds up and smashes. Not what i was looking for, but satisfying. A pretty 3.25lbs
