  1. What a day, I slept in after spending all day day yesterday on the big O riding the struggle bus. I got a new ufo and my 2 sly trouts this morning in the mail , and took care of some things I had to do, then decided to get out there and see how the trouts fished. Had one follow on my second cast and another a couple casts later. I fished around for a little more with no action then went back to where I had the follows and as I was pulling the trout out of the water she came up and swirled on it, I tossed it out a couple of feet twitched it twice and she shot out like a rocket and tboned it! For a 3.5lber she sure hit it like a 10! A total of 4 hours from opening the box to catching her, can’t wait to get log some more hours with this bait!

  3. Had a great time tossing the UFO Billed Gill around this past weekend... Fishing a highly pressured body of water here in East Texas...Lake is getting pounded hard by tons of guys and most of the guides. Pitching/Flipping, Punching ,dropshot and weedless flukes claiming 20+ fish a day with a 2 Lb Average size...so "Dink fest" in my opinion Knowing they were eating good I started throwing the UFO Billed Gill and immediately connected with a solid fish (2 other boats in close proximity watching) One of the guy said: "That's why he caught a big one...Look at the size of the bait!"...They trolling motored over and I flipped the bait in their boat-They two guys though it was pretty cool! I caught 4 total and the smallest was around 3.5 and the biggest was around 6... I have a vairity of Gill style baits and Time after Time the UFO just gets it done! The swim is unique and doesn't "Blow out" at any speed and comes thru cover well and hookup ratio has been 100% for me so far

The enhanced version of the 9.0 features a state-of-the-art harness for increased durability. It also includes the new tormentor twist tail for increased action, the stealth mode hook slot for a more effective weedless presentation, and the chaos air chamber for better hookup ratios. For rigging information & a more in depth look at the bait watch the video that Mike Gilbert put together above. WCZ Battleshad 9.0 January SUB Tournament: The first SUB tournament of the year only had two fish submitted but they were both noteworthy. The winner was member @ikavelli who managed to fool a thick Double Digit who fell for his Phoney Frog glide. The win guarantees him a spot in the annual Battle for the Underground as well as earned him a SU gear pack. Honorable mention goes to @Honda450 with a 25” California largemouth that inhaled his Baitsmith Mag. Get in on the February SUB tournament by commenting “in” on the signup thread and stay tuned for the code. January SUB Sign Up Flipside: @Delta_fisher started his year off right by hitting the river in search of giant swimbait-eating stripers. He was able to convince one to eat using a Sly Guy Lures Replica Trout & attributes part of his success to the Straight Braid Customs assist hooks. His smile along with @Deltaman’s says it all! Congrats on a great fish to start your season. Check out the Flipside for a variety of catches, all on swimbaits. Flipside Section A progress shot of member @TootsMalone's entry to the swap. 2020 Grassroots Bait Swap: To kick off the year, SU member @chefchris is organizing another bait swap for our members who enjoy building their own baits. The thread indicates that there will be a three month period where participants may craft their baits, share their progress, and finally swap with others. Lots of progress-pics have been shared so far & we are excited to see everyone’s final products. Head over to the thread and follow the builder’s journeys. 2020 Grassroots Bait Swap Spotlight: At the beginning of the new year, @Fallof74 was ready to test his theory of where he believed the trout eaters were holding. He was handsomely rewarded with his new PB at 14.2 pounds by crawling his Baitsmith Mag on the bottom. Congrats on the great start to the season! 13. Nighttime is the right time anytime! Got this one in water around 45 degrees last spring just fishing slow with small twitches. Remember, just because a bait is made to fish a certain way, produces better for some people a certain way, or looks best fished a certain way.....doesn’t mean it’s the best way for it to produce for YOU! Have an open mind

  18. Figured I'd share this cool story about this baits journey. I purchased this 316 OG Wake that @SPEEDBEADhad converted to a glide back in 2014. Wayne had spent a lot of time weighting/tuning it and swam great. Think it was bone/white when I got it. After I got it, I cleaned up the hook rash, lip slot, joint area and weighted areas, and I sent it off to @pizz for a repaint. Color from referenced from a pic of a wild juvi rainbow trout from a backwoods stream in RI. Bait came back in April of 2015 and looked amazing, think i fished it a few times but never really gave it the time it deserved, was too into surfcasting for stripers that season. I sold it locally to another RI swimbait tosser, later in 2015. He sold it at some point, then it was resold 2x and @asohozaended up with it. I don't think anyone fished besides him based on how great of condition it was still after 5 seasons. I had seen it in a pic he posted with his other 316 collections, I had reached out about it and just thought it was cool it surfaced back up. He ended up posting it for sale on the Black Market and I grabbed it to fish it this season. I threw some hooks on it and found some open water to see it swim again. Bait has a cool slow side to side swim, and the joint will knock if you give it a good twitch, otherwise its quiet, sinks level, super cool bait mod and stoked to have it back and give it its fair share of time in the water this season.

  23. NOTE; im assuming you are refering to disney in florida since you said disney "world" not disney "land" (in CA). my info pertains to florida. last time i went i stayed at Dinsey's swan/dolphin hotels that are near the boardwalk/hollywood (i think thats the name, its been years but basically it was like a huge boardwalk with alot of shops and restaruants) and there are ponds/connecting canals everywhere and they were loaded with fish. now it has been probably 7 years since then so im not sure everything is the same as it was back then. check out "bamabass" on youtube, i believe they made a video of them getting a "guide" on the disney world small lakes/canals on a pontoon boat with shiners.

  29. Ive been thinking about the baitsanity because it sinks alittle faster. I like how you can be on a Bridge and the baitsanity works perfectly being high up. I definitely try some longer pauses with the 250 and just let it drift in the current see if that will help me out a little bit more getting bites. With my 250 right now I have two pieces of lead tape on the nose and fishing fluorocarbon helps a bit.

  37. I have 2 Citrix that I've beat to hell and both have stood the test of time and abuse. I have the 5.4 and the 6.4 ratios. The only complaint I have with them is they are noisy even when clean, but if you can get past that they perform great.

  38. my buddy originally bought a Citrix and the drag didn't work so he sent it back. When he got the replacement, its drag also didn't work. That was probably just his experience so take that info as you will

@boomah21 no it was a medium sink, sank too fast now it swims like my other real deal. If a bait can't do what I need it to, it's worthless to me as a fisherman

  42. For real tho....nobody wants to be out fishing alone and break a pb and possibly the fish of a lifetime and get pics that make it look 2lbs. I’m usually fishing a small area from the bank. I get to my spot and set up my camera “station”. Try to find a high spot like a rock or something to set my backpack on, set my bait box on top of the bag nice and level. Then have a water bottle to lean my phone on. This is all get the phone up high so the pic is straight on and not looking up at you. Also if you night fish have an external night. Often your phone flash isn’t bright enough and pic come out grainy. You see the better angle on the second pic here. Top pic is a 7-9, bottom is a 6-10
