    First Cast

First cast of the day with the Hudd. Crept it up a long main lake point and she smoked it. Looked a lot bigger than 6lbs when she came and up and wallowed on the surface! I we were fishing a small club derby, so I boxed her and took a pic a the end of the day. We ended up winning the pot and Big Fish!

Had a tournament over the weekend at folsom and was able to find a pretty consistent glide bite. 3rd out of 80 so not too bad for my first time on the lake.

Ok, so if you had two of the same bait, why wouldn’t you follow through with the sale? He gets one and I get the other that I paid for on EBay? There’s no need to cancel one transaction if you have two baits. You state that he paid 165? Our sale we agreed on was 175.00, which I paid. There’s no misunderstanding. It’s clear as day what you’re doing bro.

  11. Well put Jeff...I and many other share the same sentiments! When I first joined I didn't know anything but was highly intrigued by the Swimbait I had a guy on here from Texas reachout to me and drive over 2 hours to meet me at a local pond and talk Swimbaits It was the 1st time is saw a 9in MS Slammer and he had a 3:16 Armageddon...I didn't know what to think He gave me a few swimbaits and (Mattlures Hardgill and some Rising Sons) I lost the hardgill the next trip out but caught a lot of fish on those rising sons... Ben from LDC got a introductory Swimbait Rod and not I have 4 and another Custom on the way SU is the place to be! Now who is gunna be the 1st to get a SU tattoo?

  24. I got my first swimbait rod about a month ago and only had one bite on a hudd. Right behind the hook so nothing until today. I started with a 9" soft Nates bait on a 12/0 beast hook but the center ripped out , so out came the mend it and I switched to the 8" hudd. It looked like it was not going to happen as it was my tenth time out with my new rod and my only bite came in on the third or fourth trip. It's winter so I know the drill I had some free time so I'm at the lake trying out the new pole. I was getting hungry and was hitting my main points as I was thinking of leaving and boom a hard thump. The rod and reel worked flawless and she came in at 5.33 lbs. This being my first swimbait fish I was all jacked up and forgot I was hungry and kept on fishing. About 20 minutes later I decide to make a cast to the very same place, so bombed it out perfectly to the same place. I remember giving myself props on the cast when "THUMP" even harder than the first I instantly knew this was bigger. The LDC and the Conquest winched that fatty to me and she clocked in at 9.01lbs. Giving me a new PB for bass as my old PB for bass was 7lb 12oz and a 23.5" I did not have a scale at the time but I guess was about 8 lbs. So this nine pounder is a great step up for me, Going for that Cali DD! I thank SU and it's members for sharing such great information on this great sport!

  25. Winter is almost here which means time to reflect on what I didn't really use this year and find it a better home. I've got some hardbaits with minimal or no use at all (some hookpoints here and there, can be seen in pictures). All prices are TYD. Best way to reach me is text at 508-596-0193. I will consider trades but at the moment I'm really only looking for a 9" white slammer, defcons, or burritos. Meathead in "Perch" - $65 - Got it in great shape from previous owner, no chips in resin, love how this thing looks just didn't find myself using it much 9" Slammer in "Orange Trout" - $75 - would really like to find someone who wants to do a swap for a 9" WHITE slammer in similar condition - Good condition, just some hookpoints and a couple small paint chips Wake N Crank in "Bluegill" - $120 - Great condition, will include spare tail 8" Triple Trout in "Purple Trout" - $65 - Barely even saw water, will include spare tails Moreau Rat - $50 - Great shape, just not my style Cl8 Baby Possum in "Midnight" - $75 - Awesome bait, only swim tested. I don't really have the rod right now to be heaving this thing for hours ** If anyone wants the entire lot I'll do $400

Those crazy ebay sales are transfers designed to create perceived market. On ebay the site sometime offers opportunity to sell a certain amount of no fee items. When this happens a seller could simply post an insane price then 'sell' it to themselves. Same for auction. Who says the last two bidders running cost up aren't the same person with separate accounts? We have no way of knowing and neither does ebay. For all we know the item shown might not even be in the sellers hand. And even if it is we have no way of knowing it was ever shipped. The only time ebay might seek confirmation is with buyer complaint. But if seller and buyer are same there won't ever be a complaint. Seriously, I can't be the only dude to ever conceive such a backdoor. This is super easy access for a cheat. Simple and damn near impossible to get caught. All someone needs is a second ebay account. That's it. If in auction format they need three. Simple. And since ebay 'confirms' us by way of email don't you think this smells fishy? Seeing a 2K sale within 2 hours listing a bit odd maybe? I think it's odd. I don't believe it either.

  44. No big ones only a couple 5 to 6 pound fish. You can keep, your rod tip up and wake the bait, or lower it a little and keep it shallow, or lower it more or stick it down in the water and it will crank deeper. It will burn or swim very slow just enough to make the back section move side to side.
