Still grinding away in the mornings. Caught two “dinks” yesterday. However this morning I was able to hook this one. It’s no giant, but hopefully a sign of fish to catch as the fall season bite progresses. Thank you for your time to read my post. Maybe “All or Nothing” applies to the paint quality. You seem to have a bait that’s more in the “nothing” category.

Bought this K9 a while back but life has had me busy so hadn’t had a chance to fish it. Pulled it out of the box a couple weeks ago and fished it for a hour or two and it looked like this after… I have reached out to Mike Gilbert and DRT with no response. I am not the type to complain but this is weak. Guess I’ll have to pay somebody professional to paint this thing correctly on top of paying for this bait from the manufacture. I just wanted to post as a PSA and to see if anyone was dealing with the same problem. I guess I expected more out of WCZ but I guess they are just a big bait box store. tite lines SU

It started poring rain around noon with a lot of lightning and some rolling thunder lasting up to 4 minutes long. Decided to hit the pond once it let up a little. Ended the day with this 5.04 on the Gigantarel.

just a heads up, I went to the PO today to mail off some small flat rate priority packages and the price went up to $9.20, was $8.40 until 10/1. all of the flat rate prices went up, not sure off hand. but be advised if you're selling or buying baits I see a lot of guys complaining that shipping for one bait is $10 from most sellers but now that's probably not even covering materials and the actual cost of shipping. the woman said "it was temporary for the holidays" but I highly doubt they will go back to the lower price down the road.

Actually.. I would like to get them all prepared before I make this commitment. Last time I ended up sending out 20 booty shakers, but I will give you the gist here I will open up a page, you pay shipping cost of 5.50, I charged Universe 5$ but lost 20$ in shipping because of the envelopes. Then I just send you a booty shaker, pretty simple. I want to get at least 20 more done before I open it up though.

Nothing to ground breaking but threw this together over the last week. 1/4” finish grade maple from Home Depot, had them cut it down to 10” x 34.5. Was like $9 with both cuts, so if you don’t have a saw no big deal. The travel board is 8” x 34.5” some oil base black paint, you can use whatever color you want, some foam brushes or throw away $1 store brushes, green 3m pad, titebond 3 waterproof glue (this stuff is insane and has so many uses), some cheap sandpaper and of course a wcz travel board (remove the grommet with a flat head screw driver or drill a big enough hole to allow the grommet to lay flat. round the corners over with the sandpaper. Then you want to apply 2-4 coats of paint to each side and the edges. Until you have a glossy finished product and no dry areas. Took me 3 days to make sure it was painted enough. Allow it to dry fully. then take the green 3m pad and scuff the board on one side and the back of the travel board. apply the glue to board, leaving a one inch border on top and bottom, I taped mine off with some masking tape. Make sure you apply enough and you’ll push the extra out anyway. press the travel board down and then use a credit card or squeegee starting at the middle and work the excess glue out. clean up anything with a damp sponge let it dry 2-4 days then throw whatever slaps on it you want. This is for the new boat and will be mounted on a large size Plano storage box in the middle of the boat. Going to epoxy some earth magnets to it and the box. duke couldn’t be bothered to move while I took some pics.

fishing the battle was great and thankful to have gotten the wildcard to even be in. Grinded all weekend and monday and tueday and had some of the worst fishing I've had all season. had a lot of micro fish slurping down big baits then skimming them across the surface on the hook set, which is misleading cause thats the same way the good fish have been eating baits this season. congrats to everyone who got in and fished hard.

Fall fishing is my least productive for bass and really sucks from shore but I gave it my best and it was a fun few days of grinding. Good job guys, until next year! Thank u underground

Just keep in mind, a rod that’s awesome for a 6+oz bait is not going to be awesome for a 2.5oz bait. The 794 is probably the best Tk rod. The 867, 908, or bullshad 836 rods are best for the 250.

Another medium. My cutoff for fish of significance on swimbaits is 5lbs, that is the sole reason I got into this. To catch more 5lb+ fish, more regularly. I'm grasping at straws here with this 4lb 3oz fish, but I just wanted to share with you all how well I've been doing using the PG as a crank. The past couple trips they won't touch it on the wake, but take it subsurface over grass and BAM. Fall is here so that 5lb, or 6lb, or 7lb, or......let me not get excited, has her beef mode on. Hoping to cross paths soon. -Carl

Can anyone speak to the quality of these rods? What baits they are best for and overall thoughts on them from people who have one.

Hmm seems like it is a continuous problem. Me personally I wouldn’t mind tbh kinda cool cause I would send it off to get custom painted in something nobody has or replicate forage in my waters so it’s exclusive lol just me though.

Noskunk for sure, you guys are killing it.

When I did mine I glued 4 layers of maple together and pressed them together like a skateboard to get that nice concave. Wet fish tend to slide around especially on the WCZ travel board. Nice to get that little bit of cradle on them.

I just had a Knee replacement and for all you younger people out there here is some advice. TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNEES!!! I promise you between the pain and cost it completely sucks.
