Fished yesterday with my close friend @Jim137a, and together we crossed paths with a jersey giant. She was right where she was supposed to be, all the years, countless hours, and learning these waters paying off in a single cast. She went 7lbs 1oz x 22.25”4 points -

Three seven pounders…
LowSpinner reacted to bigbass45 for a topic
I had a goal a few years back of getting three seven pounders in a season. Finally made it happen. All fish caught on a 10” glide. 7# 13oz 3/19/24 7#’s 15oz 3/20/24 7# 4oz 4/2/241 point -
I fish hard but to be completely honest I did not think I would catch another genuine New York 7 pounder for a long time. 7 pounds is the trophy mark for NY I would say, since they are so uncommon for largemouth, 7.12 on my scale!1 point

I also have 100's of baits sold, trades and purchases.... In my transactions I have always moved on to the next person on the waiting list. To tell people you will let them know soon and then just forget about the list of people waiting and relist it to the fastest NEW dm..... that's a negative feedback to me. Sure, I may not have been next, but with the last few comments, looks like you pissed off a bunch of folks. That hurts your future sales to so many people. If someone leaves a negative for YOUR BAD DEALS, that doesn't mean we should all get a negative because you lied to so many people. Sorry if that hurts some feelings.1 point -

Congratulations Vance, all the hard work, hours spent on the water has finally paid off tremendously. That is a NJ Giant and a phenomenal PB. ***NJ is really showing its bass fishing potential this season: @captainhookset with a solid PB, now this giant PB. Incredible time to be fishing NJ.1 point -

Its been brutal. Late nights after work, 15 or so skunks in a row and snapping off some nice baits......first world problems. I got my first soft plastic fish and it was a pretty decent one.1 point -
Goonie Gill, TK, and MDC Fish
CG_Fishes reacted to ThatKidInNY for a topic
The season has been a blast so far. The Goonie fish were back to back which was awesome, waking it super SLOWWW. I have broken my Maine Largemouth PB 3 times this season. Starting with a 4.63 on the TK, then a 4.81 and 4.98 on the Goonie Gill. The MDC eat was insane, I had like 3 feet of line out and the fish nosed up on it and just barely sipped the back hook. I didn't realize the fish even bit it until it started thrashing and hooked itself lol. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and is having a good season. Thanks for reading!1 point -
Best 250 fish yet-more to follow!
maine y yak reacted to Chija for a topic
Awesome fish, congrats. Also excellent advice, that exact bait setup (ghost ayu with quads) happened to catch me my two biggest fish of the last couple years (and in Northern CO). I second the wind thoughts, glidebaits in general are such a confidence bait for me during those high sun, windy days.1 point -
Best 250 fish yet-more to follow!
maine y yak reacted to Fried Lemons for a topic
It's probably the best overall glide. Also heavily underrated by most northern anglers for some reason. On my main lake it gets bit more consistently than pretty much any other bait during trout season. My only complaint with the bait is fish tend to throw it easily.1 point -
Been a dry spell for big fish this spring with missed opportunities and heart breaks but finally connected and successfully landed a good one! So stoked for this one!1 point

NJ 23.5 pound bag on Klash9
CG_Fishes reacted to Cesar bastidas for a topic
I went out this past Saturday and had a killer day on the drt klash9. I even broke my pb with a 6.2lb New Jersey bass. I started early morning as always and ran all my spots and had a big one every spot. I’ll remember that day for the rest of my life. Klash 9 by far my favorite bait to throw. All my c2c are being posted on my IG.1 point -

Welcome to the forum. Truth be told, members like Brian ( @bassbass ) and others were influential to me to be active, comment and celebrate a members catch. Doesn’t matter if it’s a PB, a quality bass, or even a “dink” caught on a new technique, if a member is posting about it, they are proud of it. Why not celebrate the moment with them. But thats enough about me, the moment is about that 6.31lb bass you caught. It’s good to hear you’re putting time in with soft baits and finding success. I’m sure a catch like that was a confidence booster. Look forward to the next one.1 point -

OG 2x4 restoration
SkagitBasser reacted to Abobass for a topic
Hi All just thought I’d share my latest project of restoring an old first version 2x4 top water. The bait is 10” in length and 5.6 ounces. After stripping the epoxy and sanding the bait I removed the 3 eye screws. Since I primarily target large striper I opted to install rotating spro swivels (250 lb rating). To do this I used a 1/4” fortsner bit to drill into the belly to take the swivel and another hole intersecting the belly to install the brass pin to hold the swivel in place. I also coated the holes with super glue a few times to water proof them. To cap the intersecting holes I used 1/4” dowel super glued in and then sanded smooth. I also plugged the hole for the tail eye screw as it was off kilter and drilled a new, centered pilot hole. Next order of business will be adding a one knock into this bait which I will share the process with you all if anyone is wondering how to do that. That’s it for now. More photos to come !!1 point -

Epoxy adhesive.
flaswimbaiter reacted to azfisher for a topic
I've always used Dev-Con 2 Ton 30 minute epoxy, haven't had many issues with eyescrews , had a few lips come out tho. Fixed that by drilling a couple small holes in the lip where it rides in the slot so the epoxy goes thru the lip. The 5 min Devcon isn't waterproof.1 point
