Sad but true being a middle man was not a fun ordeal.

It’s sad that DA didn’t follow up making the basswood deep divers the 4 RD he made for me are awesome swimmers. DA made a 2-4’ 4-6’ 6-8’ and 8-12’ divers ....of all the baits I’ve cranked over the years these are the best I've ever fished for super cold water slow cranking so it suck that he didn’t take care of the few guys I sent his way. Got 12” of fresh snow coming Sat night something I’m sure you miss Brain. Think Spring.-Dan

All is well on my end Brian someday I will come down and visit you in Fla, I’ve been kind of keep to myself now that New England has turned into the Social Capital of the world for swimbaitunderground users, never seen so many 5 + 6lb PB’s. My Crank-Bait retirement collection rests on my living room table mostly old school wooden Pats with a few newer ones along with a few sick swimming RI Dave Anderson s deep divers (DA missed out on being a billionaire) plus a few of my favorite old Wood-tails and Slammers mixed in on the table.

CL8 makes an awesome bite size Mighty Mouse and Water Vole rodent bait; I have a few that Clayton custom made to crank down there great baits for slow cranking at ice out on New England waters.

2nd biggest Pats collection on the planet #1 has to be River Pirate Ralph; the $10,000 question is how many do you guys still own?

Hot Wheels are used when the days are above freezing, I’m trying to come up with a heated hole cover to keep the holes ice free on cold days that way I can used the Wheels all the time.

Landed a 41" NP on Dec 8th that was my first day on the ice this winter she was a skinny girl compared to the WCO FAT Football!

Thursday's FAT Foot-Ball weight was 21lbs14oz.

Zero over 10 but I have 3 over 9lbs, breaking 10 in New England is like hitting Power Ball.
-
Both great baits my name is on the Baby Possum "Southwick's CRANKING Special" so it gets my vote.

I miss that rod, should be an easy fix if only a 1†broke off.

With the amount of bait that’s in Onota there’s most likely a 6lb plus class SM swimming there, I know of a 5.6 that was C+R in Jan through the ice. 3:16 shad is a good SM bait; I like a floater over a SS for SM. Is Onota free of ice?

SBU Welcome. C+R a lot of CT NP over the years my set up is 65lb braid with 18-24†of crimped 50-60lb Gama fluorocarbon leaders.... using mono that stretches like a rubber band will not allow you a good hook up to land ratio, you need very little stretch to land big pike. 3:16 Hyper Herring and Musky GB get crushed in CT NP waters and Slammers cranked fast are also a good CT NP bait to try.

You fish SM at Onota or do you come east and fish the Q? I’m a Q Cape SM guy but Onota is on my hit list.

That’s funny I have a Wake Jr that I modified to dive 6-8’ it’s a sweet swimmer. Honestly it’s impossible to pick 1; Crank down Baby Possum is hard to beat at ice out..diving Slammer has put some giants in my boat cranking a few months after ice out. Pats, WT both have worked well all times of the year for me so if I had to pick 1 it would depend on the time of year.

RP 7†gets my vote it’s an awesome bait to skip into lay downs right after ice out in shallow slop ponds that warm up fast. This Mass LM was C+R on March 13th 2016 3 day before this place was totally locked up with ice. Think Spring.-Dan
