caught this smallmouth late spring while shore pounding the colorado river, didn't bring my scale. I decided to mark my rod and messurred it later at 23 inches, definitely my pb smallmouth. Any guesses on the weight?

Caught this smallie on the Deps slide swimmer 175 in Butch Brown hatchery trout, it came out of about 20 feet of water and followed it until i turned the bait around, then it thumped it. it was the biggest one of the day at about 3.25 pounds. got a couple more bites and a little 2 pounder, also on the slide swimmer. Definitely gave me some more confidence in throwing these big baits for smallmouth.

Im brand new to swimbait fishing, my first swimbait fish was my PB pike, this is my 3rd swimbait fish and my new PB smallmouth caught on a Waterhogg Swimbaits 2 piece wake rat. Did not get a weight on her but she went damn near 21" and was thick everywhere so I'm sure this fish was over 4lbs.

Hey guys, This year I'm going to be targeting smallmouth on big baits. I'm not that acquainted on what to throw for big smallies however, I've started to buy some tournament series Mattlures in perch and catfish to start off with. Any other suggestions on some other baits (soft and hard) that I should put in my arsenal for the spring and summer? Thanks, Ryan

I have been fishing the same lake in Connecticut for about 5 years. I dabbled in the swimbait game here and there the past coupe years, but now I am throwing swimbaits about 90% of the time. It paid off big time. 2 weeks ago caught my 1st ever 8" huddleston bass, which was a 4 pound smallmouth. And 2 weeks later (today) I caught another 4 pound smallmouth (both 4.0 oz on the dot!) on the 175 deps slideswmmer. I have not caught a smallmouth that big in years. Cant wait to see what this fall brings!

Been a couple years since I fished a swimbait. Decided to start fishing them with a purpose again so I got out last night and stuck 2/lost 2. No record breakers just ice breakers. I'll never put the swimbaits down again!

I went down to a local lake to fish a s-waver 200. I didnt really try to catch a bass on it, I just wanted to fiqure out the action of the bait and how to fish it. Well after 5 cast I already had 3 followers so I decided to keep fishing it and on my 8th cast I had this smallmouth follow it. He hit the lure 2 other times until he finally got the hooks, he was the most aggressive follower I ever had. I might have to keep this bait in my Tackle Box.
