  1. Do’s are the best, and the 200 hold plenty of line for midsize baits. TANKS
  2. Yes. But that doesn’t mean it’s wrong and it certainly isn’t unique as a passionate pastime in that aspect.
  3. As said above heavier shallow bodied glides are best for what you’re talking about. Shad and bluegill shapes catch water and ‘sail’ on you. I tend to fish them ‘on the swing’ like a streamer if that makes any sense and use the reel to create action
  4. Looks like a cheap version of a Sebile Magic Swimmer that doesn’t swim as well.
  5. Hudd Bluegill that swims correctly?
  6. Mattlures, CL8, then probably MS (slammers) or 3:16. You can buy from those 3/4 and cover everything, everywhere. And you’ll avoid 99% of the maker drama and mystic waitlists that come with some.
  7. Some people are so into Shimano they’d give a right nut? free bump
  8. ‘Bout tree fiddy... real nice bait though...
  9. That’s some gorgeous paint!
  10. Pretty sure Matt pours his own hardbaits. Possible that the soft baits are outsourced but IDK.
  11. Pretty close to tree fiddy retail... GLWS!
  12. I have two of the Okumas- great functional rods.
  13. Red Oak Amber out of Greensboro NC is the beer I drink when I’m drinking beer that tastes like beer. Not big on fruit or pumpkin spice in my beer, but I have had some really great sours and gose s from around NC.
  14. Mickey with the heat check... tree fiddy?!?!?
  15. Delaware Valley Tackle is another custom rod maker I have used. It’s not the cool kids mentioned here but he puts together great rods and on time.
  16. I had a similar experience with LDC. Great rods but took waaaaaaay longer than quoted and I didn’t have them for the specific trip I bought them for. Ben would always email back but in then for me it’s just not worth it for custom rods at this point. Maybe when my kid is older.
  17. You shouldn’t need to fizz drum from 30 ft of water. They move up and down that depth regularly to feed. They’ll be just fine, actually better since cut ou didn’t poke a hole in them.
  18. Sorry, I have to ask - As far as the ‘I grew up on spinning reels’, I did too, but always reeled on the right side, because my spinning reels had handles you could switch. Why does growing up on spinning reels make you more apt to reel left? Btw - I reel right. I land fish with my right, either lipping or boga. My left arm is perfectly adept at rod handling and I like the dexterity of my right with the reel handle and fish.
  19. Something to think about - wider, shallower spools do better in this instance as there’s less line depth to dig in. You can get a ton of light braid on without it being wrapped too deep.
  20. BEAUTIFUL fish! On a crank at night in the winter. Baller.
  21. I’ll need to see some proof
