1st post here. Managed a couple the other night at a not so local hunny hole. Both on the 9 in nitro on the steady wake. Nothing big but still fun when they bite up top. Had 2 other blowups ups but hooks didn't stick. Can't wait to get my new nez rats wet. Till next time....

Ive got a two piece 9in slammer for sale with some hook rash forsale(seen in pic) a fish30acre crappie that i can't seem to find anywhere else so i think it may be a prototype bait and a glide gill from Hardcore Customs that has a small chip on the tail all baits swim great, pm with offers, comments will be second to pms according to time -
Spring is finally starting to show itself in NC and I was looking to get my first wake bait, I'm looking at slammers right now but if anyone knows any good ones that won't break the bank feel free to let me know of them. But I was wondering what colors y'all like for wake baits, down here where I'm fishing its mostly shad and bluegill, but I know color on wake baits can be a little less important. Also what sizes do you like I've heard some debate on the 7 v. the 9 inch. What do you guys like to throw?

Recently discovered the MS Slammer and really liked the idea of it so I tried to replicate it to the best of my abilities. It turned out better then I thought it would and it swims amazing. I'll upload a video next time I get a chance. Still have to epoxy it but other then that it's finished.

so havent been able to turn plugs since 2013 due to moving, getting maried last year , family health issues (cancer), running two resturants amd lack of time etc. well finally got my shop semi put back together and was able to turn a few bodies. these are based off an original wood atom 40, about 8" long. going to cut em single v joint, around 4", pinned swivel hook hangers, lexan lip and custom rubber tails. basically making my version of an MS Slammer, Pats perch, etc. going to make 3 deep cranks and 3 wakers. designed for catching Largemouth bass, but going to make strong enough to handle stripers here in New England. Plan on making a bunch more and a few different joint designs, 2, 3 and 4 piece baits over the fall winter. Ill keep updating this thread as I progress with them, waiting on a bunch of hardware, eyes, lips etc to show up. the freshwater swimbait guys easily pay $50-125 for a bait like this. first pic is my turning with a custom painted ms slammer as reference. 2nd pic is the 6 bodies, marked up for eyes, joint cut and hook placement
