Reworking my setups now that I'm getting dialed in to what I like. 1. Dobyns 867, great condition, was a replacement for one I broke and is only a month old. $250 2. Daiwa lexa 300 HS right hand, good condition, few scratches, 7.1:1 gear ratio is just a bit fast for me. $150 Bait lot $150 3. DS Attack Rat Shad Glide, 7 inches and about 3 ounces, swam tested. $85 4. Jackall Gigantarel, thrown twice. $40 5. Jackall Mikey Sr. in golden shiner. $20 6. Both savage line thru trouts are sold together, one 10 inch slow sink in light trout and a 6 inch slow sink in dirty silver. $25

https://youtu.be/4rn9gQQbTmk First outing with the phoney glide. What you can't see in the video is the HAMMER that was trying to take the bait away from this dink. I was trying to hang both but it just wasn't to be.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I've been saving up a bit of money for a swimbait rod up to $300. I have never used a true dedicated swimbait rod or owned one. So I would like some first person experience help here. I've found 2 rods I really prefer. The Dobyns Champion 796sb and LDC MH/H 7'9". The reason for this is I prefer shorter rods, full foam handles and I dont like cork or split grip for chucking heavy lures. I know the LDC comes with the spiral wrap. If you can give insight on pros/cons about that also, it would be helpful. If you guys/gals can give some insight on either rod it would be appreciated.

Tossing up between the Dobyns 908 champion xp 8"10 or 908 champion 9". I currently have a 795 but it struggles on the big baits. Would be interested to hear people's opinions on these 2 rods.

I know the Fury rods are Dobyns' new budget oriented line. I wonder if anyone has used the fury swimbait rod and what are your thoughts on the rod if you have used it? I wanted to get a new swimbait rod but i didn't want to break the bank.

I was going to order a LDC rod.I already own Dobyns 867,795,and an 806,I would be using this for throwing deps 250,RM Mothers, and maybe some larger soft baits with jig hooks.I was thinking getting an 8 ft custom xxh, wasn't sure if the parabolic or mod/fast action would be better.

So I normally wouldn't put up a report with fish under 5#, but these where a little different. I decided to fish the hudd 68 again this morning since it's been getting most of the action as of late. Working it extremely slow with short pauses along a drop off I get the first bite of the morning. Just a tick and then slack line. I don't feel the bait so I crank down and swing. A moment later this feisty little gal is in the net (yes, I make it a habit to net everything). I take a quick pic and go to un-hook her......"where the F' is the hudd?" Turn on the flashlight and this little gal has the hudd just about coming out her Arse! Talk about choking it....she is only a 3.4#! About 20 minutes later I get another bite. Set the hook, work it in but doesn't feel big. I look in the net....holly crap it's a football! I put her on the scale....."that can't be" Put her on the back up scale, same weight!!! This little gal was maybe 16" but she weighed in at 4#! Unfortunately the pic does not do her justice. Short and Fat!
