  1. Go easy on me guys. I make more conventional tackle by trade (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, etc.) but wanted to try my hand at this swimbait stuff. Here is prototype one of a rat. Rather than painting, I chose to torch the wood and it's...different. Wanting to start with the rat and maybe move to a glide if I get some more patience!
  2. Have a brand new DS attack rat jr in custom zombie color . Trades interested in are Woodrow two piece, el raton, deps 175, negotiator Dadson musky blades. Would entertain other offers Can add cash to any trade to make it even. Or sell for $60 TYD gift or add fees Pics coming
  3. Hey all I wanted to start a topic that I've been thinking about recently "The Theory of Rat's". I have heard that bass hate snakes and the more "rat" bait's I see they look more like brown or black snakes than any rat. They way they move as a bait usually slithers as well, especially the 3 part rat swimbaits. So my question is are bass confused and attacking the baits as snakes? Should we start calling them snakes instead and painting them as such? Which have you had the most success with a 2 or 3 part "rat" bait? Also does anyone have any advise on brands? I've stumbled across this company does anyone have any TrapBassBaits https://www.instagram.com/trapbassbaits/?hl=enaits/?hl=en ? Any advise is helpful. I've tried searching so if there is another thread feel free to post the link. Thanks, Zack

  6. I have always wanted to buy a rat, specifically a TT Nezumma, really like the design of the lure. Just picked up a three piece XL in black and was curious if folks had any tips, especially on the three piece. One of my local spots has some great reed walls with grass lines. As the grass dies a bit slot opens between the reeds and the grass. I was planning to work both sides of the weed line. Any recommendations of retrieve? Appreciate any tips or pointers.
  7. Alright guys. I made my mold, and poured a couple rats. I've having issues with bubbles. Alumilite says it's probably a humidity issue with the resin. I do live on the coast so that may be an issue. I'm working out of garage so it's not exactly a closed environment. The bait came out really awesome though. I've very happy with it. 6.5 inches at the body and about 5.5 oz. Tell me what you think. Positive or negative. https://youtu.be/3xd_fbCmMk8
  8. Last night, me and a friend decided to head to a local lake for a night of smallie fishing. We left well before dark and caught a couple 2-3lbers, than once the sun set, there was not a cloud in the sky. Than it got cold. But as soon as it got cold, we stopped catching 12-14 inch smallies for about 30 minutes. I do a long cast with the BBZ rat and left it sitting for a minute. I heard the rat get sucked down and I set and landed a beautiful 5lb 3oz smallie, biggest one ever weighed on a scale outta that lake. Once I caught the 5lb 3oz smallie, I caught a 4lb 7oz smallie on the rat as well, than after that, we just kept catching 4lb+ smallies. In total I think we got 8 over 4lbs and one at 5lbs 0oz the other at 5lb 3oz. Pretty wicked night.
  9. Just got a new swimbait rod and went to test it out today and ended up catching a 5lber in Maine on the rat, that is now my best fish on the bbz rat

  13. Finally took out the small morning wood rat after not being able to sell it for a larger rat. Unfortunately it's the dink magnet I was afraid it would be but it is a cool little rat and I will be getting a larger one instead of a Nez. Felt good to get out after not fishing for a couple weeks because of work. Two tiny guys and a nice little bass for the section of river I was in.

  20. Went out and did some evening/night fishing with my bro (CrawDaddyDeluxe) and we killed it. My new BBZ rat got it done. Nothing huge but we each caught about half a dozen, all around the 3lb mark. The rat has earned a spot in my box! I dropped a big dog about 4 or 5 lbs, before I could weigh her. Anyone who fishes in a Kayak can tell you its a challenge dealing with a fighting fish on you lap in a Yak. I have since bought a net. Love top water hits at night! And I Love the Rat!
