Hey Everyone, I am new to the big bait game but I recently started throwing them in a pool just to learn mechanics and stuff. Right now my setup is a Daiwa DX 8’ MH with a Lexa HD 300. Most of the baits I own are in the 7-7.5” range. I found that when throwing them on the setup I have it was tough to get them to swim and dart, it seemed almost like the rod was too overpowering and making them roll or just wash out. Just for Kicks I decided to try them out on a smaller lighter rod so I put them on a 7’1” MH and it seemed like those Baits really came alive and we’re so much easier to control. Even my Jointed Claw 230s seemed to have trouble on the heavier rod. Do I just suck that bad or is there a tip for using smaller lighter rods for bigger Baits. Now I do understand that bombing a long cast on a lighter rod isn’t advisable with heavier stuff but would I be able to comfortably throw something in the 2-4oz range on say a 7’6” MH, or should I just practice more?

Went slow rolling around my brush piles I recently sank in my pond. This is the biggest warmouth ive ever caught and couldn’t be more stoked it was on a mini glide lol.

I would love to pick up a 230 but I’ve talked to 3 or 4 guys who have had theirs fill with water. Right now the only bigger glide I have is the SS 250 because I mostly fish jointed baits so I’m looking to expand my glide collection. If anybody has any feedback on the jointed claw 230 please let me know. I don’t want a frail bait because I mostly fish docks so baits do get hit every now and again

Got another chunk to eat today. I love the 230. I only have one now but I have a feeling some different colors may be in the near future.

Lots of rain today, overcast, windy.. I should have be throwing a wake but I really wanted to get one on the 230 so I put it on instead. Payed off.

Looking to sell these as a lot or trade them off. Only bait that has caught fish is the giron and the mystik lures glide. Everything else has only hit the water one time. 6" bluegill is missing the front fins due to a poor glue job at the factor. They literally just fell off. Trades I'm looking for are swavers 168 and 200s, bluegill hardbaits. Really looking for a gc 230 and would be willing to trade possibly the whole lot for one. Selling as a lot for $100. Pm me or text me if you're interested in anything or have any offered and yes, is be willing to split, especially for the chance at multiple trades. 765-978-8170 Thanks!

Looking to get my first glide bait somewhere in the 7-8 inch range. So far I've looked at the S-Waver 200 and the Jointed Claw 178. I was wondering what opinions y'all had and what other ones I should be looking at in that size and price point. Thanks
