Glide bite is heating up here in NW Illinois as the water cools off--I'm on an epic (for me) run over the last couple weeks. Nothing huge, but some fun fishing for sure.

Decided earlier this season to semi-retire the 7" Shine Glide, as I'd caught a bunch of fish on it in the last year and wanted to size up to the 9" Magnum as my standard. Been sending that thing for the last five weeks or so, with nothing but some followers and a couple tail taps to show for it until yesterday. Got this 20", 4lb beauty to eat, FINALLY. Stick to the grind, persistence pays off!!

Been sending the Shine Glide for the past couple weeks as one of my early season cold water baits, zeros until today finally. Best part--I've been putting my son on some slabs gills so he was there to see his old man stick a big one!

Man I cannot say enough about the Shine Glide, this thing just keeps producing. First trip this year to a super-clear lake that I don't hit very often; I shore fish and this place is deep, clear and heavily pressured, so it's hard to catch much quality from the accessible shore spots. Today was overcast and windy, so I thought they might be up away from cover a little more. Fished an area that has submerged weeds less than a foot from the surface with patchy spots of open water here and there--you've basically gotta start reeling as soon as it hits the water or you're hung and your cast is ruined. Lucked out and got this one to come out of the weeds and eat. Thanks again SU, the knowledge you've given me since I joined last summer has been amazing, and has led to me having the best month of fishing ever.

Hung my shad-colored Shine Glide on an underwater bush a few weeks ago, replaced it with the bluegill-colored one. Went to a murky pond I hadn't fished in a couple years today, stuck a 3.59. I can't say enough about the Shine Glide specifically, and Savage Gear in general. Great company putting out some inexpensive swimbaits that get bit. And the paint jobs are amazing imo (though I haven't seen any brand name baits/paint jobs up close, so I can't compare it to anything).

got this nice fish the other day fishing from shore at a public lake. trout season just opened here on the 13th so lots of trout have been stocked and the water is filled with 4 pound test and worms galore haha. walked past 15 chairs and a few stringers of trout and found a nice overhanging tree to toss under. tied on the 8" slow sink savage gear line thru trout (rigged on top) and started skipping it under the tree. few casts later i felt her on the line as i came past some logs in the water. full of eggs and only went 3.2 but it felt great!

What's up SU! I'm a bit of a noob to swim-baits, I started throwing a few this summer.. BBZ-Rat30, BBZ-Shad, Biovex Jointed Gill and a few Savage Gear baits on under-powered rod/reel for the last 2 years. I planning on buying my first SB set up this winter. I'm eyeing a bunch of recommended gear from the forum, but came across this rod preview on TackleTour that I thought might interesting to some over here. http://www.tackletour.com/previewsavagegearbrowserrodpreview.html word around here is the Okuma Guide Select is a decent entry-level SB rod. Seems like SG is a sister company to Okuma or a brand under their umbrella, which makes this Browser series interesting for a noob. Any Europeans on this forum that have fished SG rods before? I'll be interested to see the full TT reviews when it drops.

First fish on the 7" savage gear line thru shad in carp this evening. I've got the 10" in shad color, I wonder what I could catch with that... hmm. Savage gear products have done good to me lately!

Caught a handful of fish today on the savage gear bluegill, but only one was picture worthy. Was able to watch her eat it at the end of a weedline. Pretty sick.

After 4 trips to, lets call it lake "x", this is where I will catch a DD and hopefully a teener. I've lost a couple good ones, one I wish I saw, and have caught 2 over 6 and a 7. Each trip I learn a little more about this lake.

Looking to sell these as a lot or trade them off. Only bait that has caught fish is the giron and the mystik lures glide. Everything else has only hit the water one time. 6" bluegill is missing the front fins due to a poor glue job at the factor. They literally just fell off. Trades I'm looking for are swavers 168 and 200s, bluegill hardbaits. Really looking for a gc 230 and would be willing to trade possibly the whole lot for one. Selling as a lot for $100. Quick background Info.. ive caught a 5lber on a savage gear bluegill, and a 4.5 on a Swaver 120 last year, along with lots of 1-3 on soft plastic swimbaits and a castaic bd shad before I got my bullshad.. since then I have acquired a lot more baits, in all variety, so this is really my first solid year I'm going to have throwing swimbaits. This is my current selection of baits.. 7.5" hollowbody, 8" Jenko bootyshaker( thing thumps harder than a drum) 8" hudd, Swaver 168, 5" and 6" sg gills, 2 sg 7" shine glide, and an 8" bullshad. We are getting steady days between 50-65 outside lows only getting down into the high 40s and 5" at night. To build confidence going into spring and warmer months, what should I be throwing the most out of this bunch. I have 3 rods I use for my swimbaits. 1 for nothing but treble hook baits, one for smaller weighted single hook baits, and a bigger rod that can handle things like my 8" hudd, my 8" bootyshaker, and 8" bullshad. I caught my first fish on the shine glide the other day, other than that, everything I've caught this year has been off of a 5" soft plastic.. so I'm reaching out to you all to help me get a small rotation going so I can start building my confidence as the year really gets into full swing. What should my 3 or 4 baits be that I throw my arms off with?! Thanks for any help!

Will look at other offers too. 6" megabass magdraft pearl white shad. Never fished 10/10 2 packs of luck-e-strike hollowbody swimbaits. 6.5" blue shad color. NITB 10/10 5.25" savage gear shine glide gizzard color. 10/10 casted maybe 5 times. 2 pack of 316 mighty minnow in shad color. Never fished. One has a 5/0 screw lock 1/2oz weedless hook in it and other comes with the 6/0 ewg hook. These are the old style ones. 8/10
