Hey SU, I know a lot of people don't really throw these as much any more with the prevalence of garage baits being so popular but was wondering if anyone knows what model size of hooks/split rings to use to upgrade on a full size gantarel. Caught a new PB the other day and hooks are pretty jacked up now. any recommendations?

I've created the following for reference in selecting hook & fine tuning sink rate. Used a good milligram scale to record weights but sure there are minor manufacturing variances that are not accounted for (I only weighed one hook). Hi, I am pretty new to forum type websites which I am clearly lost at finding information. But I am relatively new to the swimbait fishing techniques but I always hear about changing hooks. I have a deps 175 slide swimmer, does the stock hooks need to be changed or if it is preferred. I am also pretty new to the switching hook game lol. What brand and size hook would make the deps 175 have it's regular stocked hook action. On the side note, changing split rings are a good addition too? Thanks guys

Contemplating starting to use the plastic hook covers on my more expensive swimbaits but worried they'll wreck feathered trebles. Has anyone cut them or anything to prevent breaking the feathers??

How do yall feel about feathers? Do you think they hide hooks? Give off a more realistic look? Or do you think they look flat out silly an cut them off?
