Hello everyone I'm new to swimbait fishing and I was told that this was a good place that I can get help. If I'm not posting in the right place please let me know. I'm here in Florida and I want to get my new PB and I have seen the best way to do it is on big swimbaits. My current record is 7lbs not small but not the biggest either. I am also a soft plastic bait maker as well also do alot of saltwater fishing...... anyways back to the point I have 0 experience when it comes to swimbaits along with 0 confidence. So I was wondering what is the best way to start I would like to get a decent setup do I have been looking at a shimano tranx 300 but I'm not sure about the rod yet I was looking to throw 20lb fluorocarbon line unless I'm told otherwise on here. So what are y'alls suggestions on beginner baits that will get me bites and a decent rod to get as well. A bait that I do make is a 4inch paddletail swimbait along with a 6inch and the 6inch bait takes a 10/0 owner beast. The picture I have added is my 6inch bait.

Got her on my second cast with the bull shad 5.4 not a monster by any means but solid fish , the conditions were the same as last week when I got the 6.5 pound fatty n didn’t have my phone to get a picture also missed 2 other nice fish that day , wind was 12mph 18 gust right at the bank I was fishing with over cast and chilly

First off, I love the way the action and versatility of the bull glides. I made a trade for an OG pizz beast gill glide because I've always been intrigued of the profile of the pizz beast. Will this swimbait make it in my rotation or sit in the tackle box? What are your thoughts of this glide bait?

--TRADES ONLY AT THIS TIME-- let me tell you about these baits I have first. 4x4 bullgill is slow sinking, slygill is slow float used with missing paint/rash, mag gill is custom painted and low float, 190/160 bullshooters have weights removed so they are now a slow float. Hyper herrings, one is a wake the other a crank down. DRT Tiks are used and come with lips. Toxic baits are all used but in great condition, I have the original tails and some extras as well. I will gladly send additional pics of specific baits if someone has what I need. Also, I have some soft baits to sweeten the right trade deal, burritos....
