Couple casts in I hook my PB in a classic ambush spot. danthefisherman Posted May 18, 2021 Report Share Posted May 18, 2021 (edited) One of my most memorable moments on the water: catching my pb while testing a new bait I made. Was only planning to swim test it out for a few hours at a heavily pressured pond where I had no clue a fish this big lived. She choked the bait so far down I had to remove the front hook to reach the rear one. Didn't bring the scale with me, but it motivates me even more to get out and try to beat this one. I remember thinking to myself while fighting this one, 'DAMN, this really is a different caliber of fish'. First time I've had that feeling. Couldn’t of been more happy since the swimbait that was used was a gift from my uncle. Almost lost it 2 times and the story that I could tell to get it is actually funny from the first time retrieving it from the water but I’m not going to get into those details. Hahaha. Let’s just say that it was worth it since I was almost naked when I went to retrieve it from about 6-8’ down.
