  1. Yesterday was a special day. Landed my personal best Largemouth in Washington State, tipping the scales at 11.28 pounds. She was so fat and full of eggs...hadn't even spawned yet. On my fifth cast and less than 5 minutes in to fishing I caught her on the 5.9" Sly Guy Redear. That bait has been dynamite for me this year. Special thanks to Clayton on such a superb bait! Soooo stoked right now!

    Planning for summer

We went out for a 4 hour night session and I let my brother in law use it. He ended up using it for all 4 hours. Countless fish and a lot of blowups. Lost a good one right on the bank. It was dark and all we heard was the mass of the fish's body throwing water around, then everything went silent. Still some good fish caught.

  4. So after an accident on the highway a few months ago I’ve been left with a pinched nerve in my neck. Getting out for more than an hour is tough but I do what I can. Only took 15 minutes rolling the bull rat around for this little guy to slurp it down under. Went 4,2 on the scale at 19 inches long. Felt great to hook into a bass again. On a side note, don’t take your health for granted guys, get out there and enjoy it as much as you possibly can. gear: dobyns 806 curado k 6.2/1 p Line 17lb CXX owner st-36 size 1/0

  5. The water down here in San Diego has been pretty stirred up since the last storm a couple weeks ago. In comparison to the previous year, we are seeing lower water temps than what we had last year, plus a recent red tide mixed with already dirty water. With that being said, the bite has been a little tougher but it's still early and great to be out there nonetheless. Beautiful day with great weather. Managed to steadily catch about 20 calicos throughout the morning between the two of us. Biggest one most likely went to 4 and change on the good ol' arm scale, haha. I spent a majority of the time throwing the Toxic Salty proto Wake N Crank, a new bait I picked up called the GC Huss Flat 180 Green Cray Fish and also a DRT Klash 9.

  6. So cool! I have a trip planned to Cedros island, summer 2020. I can't wait to throw some swimmers for the big calicos down there. I'll have to get Ceasar to build me a couple saltwater baits for me... Not really swimbait related but....The bluefin are staring to bite pretty good down off SD. I went out over the weekend. I landed a 70lber on a jig and lost another 80-90lber on livebait.

  8. Haven’t caught many smallies on swimbaits, but caught this decent one on a two piece 7” waking fish everything hater with a brush tail. I was pretty surprised since everyone I talked to said there weren’t any smallmouth in this lake. Hit like a freight train and thought it was just a poopy colored largemouth before I landed it

  17. Went out to some local ponds today after work left the big stuff at home but I always keep a few magdrafts in the backpack though. But I wasn't throwing them was frogging and was using a senko with a few hits but nothing. Only had about half hour left so said to myself why not tie on a magdraft can't hurt. Raised a few shmedian size bass but no takers. Only had about 10 mins left and started to make my way back around the pond to leave when I see a large white figured in the water cast to it , which I do this quite often if I see something and don't know exactly what it is. I guess curiosity killed the cat right? Anyways make a cast to it and reel right by it and I see that son a of a gun turn towards it and hit my magdraft. I swung on him like a batter with three men on base down 3 in the ninth. Didn't fight as hard as the last one I caught but also wasn't as big. Still though what I thought was a once in a lifetime catch happened again. I now know albino catfish HATE the white magdraft ha. Still would trade ten catches like that for a double digits. Included the other catfish in the bottom picture I caught last April on a magdraft as well happen to be my PB catfish as well!

that’s pretty neat, and thanks bro! I didn’t realize colorado had gizzards in their lakes. i’ve been doing a little bit of both. of course throwing a swimbait in a school will give the bass an easy target, but mostly i’ve been banging crackdowns off rocks and letting it rise up after I hit a rock and that’s when I get hit. I see a lot of followers too. big ones. that’s when I come back later that night with a wake and usually get them to bite. targeting ambush areas is a safe bet, but if you see a school being pushed to the surface while doing that I would make a cast beyond that school

  25. I've got to get the f*#k outta Southern California for a bit. LA drives me nuts sometimes lol. And I love it up there. I'll have my boat, and I'd love to offer a seat, but it's a pretty small boat, and I don't think it can handle two people haha. But if anyone has an extra seat and wants some company one day, I'd be happy to buy gas/lunch/beer/etc. Or if there's no time for fishing, just hit me up and we'll grab a beer and shoot the sh*t. Any info on how the lake is fishing is also welcome. I fish everything, not just swimbaits btw. I was there this time last year and had success on frogs and swim jigs, but I'd like to get more big swimbaits into the mix this time around if possible. Another thing is, when I've been there up in the past, I get pushed off the lake by 1 pm(ish) due to the wind. I have a small boat, and that wind gets fu*#ing scary. If you have any areas in mind that I can escape to, please let me know. I want to be on the water as much as I can. All of that said....I'm not looking for anyone's secret spots or anything like that, I'm just looking for general info...But feel free to PM me btw with secret spots haha. Thanks, guys! Sam

  34. Hey man clear lake Rn is hot. However most of my fish where in the post spawn mode, they seem to be very picky on the colors we were throwing(for instance we were throwing the Pro staff color robo worms and the watermelon magic were also hot). The top water was very hot( Mainly the megabass x-plose) walking baits work very well. Also jigs are very hot also right now( near rattlesnake). Crappie bite is always good. The South end was around 67 degrees and the North end they are stacked in the tulle and hit mainly on 6inch senko's( Green Pumpkin). Our biggest bass was around a 9 almost a DD which came off Keitech underspins( the majority of our good one came off underspins). But Good luck out there!

  36. Had the time of my life tossing this little angry tight to cover and the fish got bigger each time. Two tops were 4.14 and the one I’ve been chasing a 5.36 and my first fish over 5. This lure is killer and I highly recommend it! I went back out with it today and got it choked twice and the second fish broke me off lol. Short lived lure of a lifetime but luckily I was able to order another and even talked to Matt from tater hog himself and he’s a very nice guy I can’t say enough good things about how nice he was to me and the quality of the lure and experience I have had thus far fishing his lures! Can’t wait to get my replacement and get a new PB!

Only bait that worked today was volunteers swimbaits repaint of a bucca floating gill. Made my day, two decent fish and another swirl on it. Wind was key over emerging weed beds. Bud is holding fish. P.S. I stumbled upon this fellas work last winter. He does repaints and some homemades that reminded me of pats stuff, honestly nothing I would grab off of the shelf. I gotta tell ya he is onto something good. Bought a couple of baits from him, and luv em all.

    SD Trip

Spent a few days in SD over Memorial Day weekend. @Londonmitch and his father took me out for some Calico fishing Friday morning. It was a bit of a grind but we finally managed to find where they were hiding. I landed my two on a K9. The day before I met up with @Bruce for the day and hit a few couple of fresh water spots. First spot I got one on the wade hoggs. Second spot I got a bigger on on the bull gill wake. Thank you both again for everything, hope to come out again soon.

  43. It’s been kind of a grind in the northeast this spring. Haven’t been able to get my boat out so I’ve been on the bank looking for a big pre-spawn bite. Last week I went to a trout stocked lake and was throwing an 8inch magdraft in nude rainbow. Third cast I hooked into a smallmouth that was 4 pounds, and two casts after that I got one that went 4.8. Awesome confidence booster and bested my pb twice within 15 minutes. Still looking for that 7+ pound largemouth this spring.

    BLUEGILL ON GLIDES?

Im convinced if bluegill/sunfish/warmouth were bigger, no water would be safe to swim in. Jaws wouldn't have been made about a shark. Never ceases to amaze me on hoe aggressive those little dudes are. I can't get through a day targeting bass eating them off bream beds without catching a few cannibals come up and trying to kill my big ol topwater plugs
