Fall has been treating me well in northern New England. Caught my pb two weeks ago on an s waver 200. Stuck a high 6 on the gantarel as well as my first fish on a 250! I lost a giant on the 250 today as well. Not exactly sure what happened but I had a good Hook set and one reel turn later the fish spit the bait. It gave me a ton of confidence though and I know it’s only a matter of time before I catch a giant on it.8 points

DIY Flashy Mod
365swimbait and 2 others reacted to chefchris for a topic
So @danthefisherman and @porkmeatballs get credit for showing me this mod they suggested on their 4.5” lil dominator shad. thanks again for the info, they also said it was ok to share it here. super easy to make yourself and gives you endless color/blade options. it’s a super simple mod and most people should already have most of the parts on hand, here’s what’s needed: two split rings, size will vary based on the weight size of the hook and/or size of the bait Barrel swivel, I’ve been using spro 230lb swivels blade of your choice, shown in the pic is a “flap tail” blade that originally was designed for a saltwater bait called the flap tail. you can alter the sink rate of the bait as well based on blade thickness/size. The flap tail is a thick blade. you may have to play with different blades/swivels to get the blade into the right position to not hit the bait and spin freely. on the lil piggy bait, I’ve had the best luck with a “shark tail” blade, mounted in front of the weight. swims great and the added weight helps casting a smaller bait. On the citizen 6, I found that the flashy mod worked best mounted after the weight and a willow blade worked best, didn’t hit the bait or foul at all. it’s a quick easy way to add the flash without committing to always having to throw it cause it’s easily removed when not needed. ive played around with on on some real preys/hudds and also ok results but it seems to work better on baits with the swimbait hook vs. a bottom hook hanger. One night this summer they would only hit soft baits with a flashy mod, my fishing partner didn’t have one, but quickly made one from parts of baits he had and threw it on and was on fish. hope this helps someone out there, it’s a simple mod and easy and cheap to make and have on hand.3 points -

had a couple of debacles one involving a backlash that then got sucked up in the trolling motor ripping the rod right out of my hand. That really made the backlash dig in. Took over 20 minutes to pick out. Very frustrating. Regrouped, retied, and got started again. Had a follow that turned off down the bank. Fired a long cast down that bank and got her hit a 7” triple trout in perch. Had a lot of action Dropped another big one at the boat. set the hook on a monster that death rolled and came unbuttoned. But did get one to stick.2 points -

Thanks man! Its down right addicting! My favorite way to catch em by far So fun! Its hard for me to know when to put it down haha Thanks! I use a refurbished GoPro Hero 4 Silver. I just leave it on the chest mount so I can set it up wherever or throw it on if I feel like I can show a spot without being burned.1 point

BattleShad VS. Citizen
BigBaitThirty reacted to Ceaser for a topic
I think the battles is killer and should have a better hook up ratio for most guys. The citizen is a top pour and the hook has more plastic on the sides of the hook point. I hate when a fish inhales a bait, folds it up and the hook point has to go thru that extra plastic. But i am partial to the battles design. It’s the best soft weedless swimmer i have ever thrown, on a system like the delta the profile and function is perfect. They do kinda tear up Easy-ish but after I seen the Swims i just throw the battles.1 point -

Fishing hard baits, I’d go with something light and low profile. A 6 ratio for all around performance. Lots to choose from!1 point -

He finally messaged me 1 week later to say he was too busy at work to ship it...guess he was too busy at work to send me a quick 30 second reply to my many messages and email and paypal dispute message smh ...bad first impression1 point -

Update: picked up my dream rod used at a great price courtesy of @Dvdprl Haven't had the chance to fish it yet, but my first impressions were that it was very parabolic and light for its rating and size which was exactly what I was looking for! Can't wait to stick a fish with it and see how it performs...now I just need to find a good reel to match. Will it ever end? My wallet hurts1 point -

Just watched a utube feed recommendation vid of g swindle of elite series. He called sbs ewe ewe Baits cuz sbs would get big follows with no reaction. Peeps would react ewe ewe when they saw follows. He suggested speed as a trigger in follows cases.1 point -
I want a double digit on a swimbait. I've caught one but I was traditional fishing. I also just want to catch one on every swimbait I have but it keeps getting harder as I buy more, I know you guys can relate.1 point

Gantarels are awesome fall baits. Can't wait to get out. The key at this time is twitching em hard on wind blown structure. A jerkbait approach imo.1 point -

Swimbait Underground Bait Share - Traveling Bomber Wake!
DuranSD reacted to Caldeltarat for a topic
Got a few more today even though the fish were being finicky. I caught all three fish different ways. The first was while walking, the big one I was cranked it under submerged cover and the little guy on a deadstick. That big one today was my biggest of the year so far around mid-6s, even better that I got her on this bait.1 point -
Bass Pro Shops Graphite Series Muskie Casting Rod
919basshunter reacted to BamaChild for a topic
Model: GRSM70XHT Overall the rod is a good one. A very budget minded rod for sure. Fairly sensitive. The handle is a bit shorter than I would have liked, but for $50, I don't have much room to complain. The reel seat is a fuzz loose, so my Shimano Cardiff 400 has slight play forward and backwards. The eyelets are very secure on this rod. Stiff backbone. There is NOT really a 'tip' section of the rod. Glide baits are harder to work with this particular rod. The main bait I have thrown on this rod would be the 10 inch Megabass Magdraft and 8 inch Spro BBZ. The rod throws both of these baits extremely well, and the rod never feels like it is going to break on you. I do wish I had gone with the longer model, so consider upping the length. Any questions are welcome, and I will answer them all to the best of my ability. Have a nice day!1 point
