Just getting into swimbaits this year and I caught my first few fish on a glide bait yesterday. I had one 4+ follow it to the boat, nose up to it then swim away. Then got rocked a little later by a good fish which unfortunately pulled off. Before I was about to leave I get bit a couple cranks in and turned out to be my PB crappie. Feels good to start getting some confidence in the big baits.

Switched up and got my first fish on the meat head. This bait walks great and that’s when it ate

First fish on the OD Whipper Snapper. Looks great close up - I guess this bass thought so too. Certainly not my best fish of the season, but a fun one in northern Colorado.

Been my most productive bait. Caught fish ranging from 5-11 lbs

Maybe now there's not as many guys throwing it. But 5-8 years ago there were more 250s than senkos

Really ? Feel like every fish in California has seen one lol sure they still get bit but definitely don't think there overlooked as every conventional guy can name a deps or hudd when they see any type of swimbait aha

Butch himself said that the Deps 250 was exactly what he needed to bridge his bait selection from spring til winter, and it excels in the summer.

I don’t know to many guys that throw the 250 damn near every day. I think a lot of people think that they see these baits everyday when in reality it could be a lot less then that

Fresh water bath after every trip 100%. Every few trips take the reel apart and clean with a qtip and regrease. Idk what kinda fish you’ll be targeting but fish your leader accordingly. I live on the west coast and we will fish 65lb braid to 40lb flouro if we are fishing deep kelp or deep rocks. In the harbors, 12lb flouro works great

Well today ended up being one for the books for me started off at sunrise throwing the ufo wake around no luck switched to the ss ufo no luck either switched to the TK and it was lights out. I still can't believe how fired up they were for it was using reg lip vtail to start switched to transfer tail mode b and reg lip and that was the ticket. They were stacked up on a ledge of rocks cranking the TK down at a medium steady retrieve letting it dig into the rocks even lost a few nice ones as well but I defo can't complain. Surreal day biggest one went 6lb 4oz just a few shy of a PB

Ive asked folks with little to no feedback or only feedback from buying baits to ship first. Some agree some dont. If trading with solid members with history and activity thats not only in the black market generally ship at same time without worry For new members looking to be a contributing member I think shipping first is a good way to show your legit and helps a ton to ease others hesitance to deal with them. I recomend new folks only do that with longtime legit dudes though

Blew my mind. Every so often, the YouTube algorithm hits all aces. I have only watched these two videos from this dude so far, but will be watching all the rest. First video is basically a tackle / bait / hardware / tactics breakdown with some fishing footage interspersed. The second video is a vlog style of him literally chasing these fish on foot from the bank, trying to connect with one. This is true urban swimbait trophy hunting. His commitment and passion for fishing is admirable. Japanese audio, English subtitles.

I have done this on a few of my Bullshads - just black sharpie on the edge tho like these pics and like the look in the water. I would like to do chart on the tail of a gill for a green sunfish look. JJ's you say.....might have a couple...ten Gills I can mess around with.

Bait came in right before work today, gonna fish it tomorrow morning supposed to be a lot cooler

Finally was able to make the drive out to one of my favorite lakes. Felt good to stick a solid one even though it was post spawn. Massive head but no body and short, went 4-10.

I have a system so to speak that I follow when I see baits for trade in the BM. If they have low to no feedback, I just keep scrolling. If they have a certain amount of positive feedback as a seller or trades, I'll see if we can make a deal. BUT they ship first or no deal. For the guys I know well, guys I’ve dealt with before or the guys that have a high number of positive transactions, I ship mine out on the day I say. They usually do the same. Not always…life happens. But they’ve always came through. But if you have low feedback and you’re trying to sell F&F only, I’m passing no matter how good the deal. I do F&F sales only and I don’t mind paying F&F to guys who have a good amount of feedback. But that’s a trust that’s earned from your time spent on here in forums other than the BM and your feedback combined. And if I know you, no sweat. That’s my "system" in a nutshell. Plus my gut instinct.

Went out today and found the perfect spot / conditions to actually fish my 6.5” shad glide from @Ds.attack.rat And it was all I could hope for. Pedaled the yak up a lil feeder stream and found 2 LMB’s willing to eat the bait but only landed 1. For a 6.5” glides the bait is incredibly stable, has a pretty wide glide, swims phenomenal in current and the sink rate is spot on. This bait is going to be a killer for river smallie this summer. The illude 3 piece Zombie is pretty incredible in the fact that i fished it on 5 separate trips and its but fish in the yak and on the bank every trip.

Hit up one of the clear water forest preserve lakes around me--fish were on beds and cruising around chasing gills. I got a couple (an 18" and a 17.5) on a softbait, my first softbait fish in two seasons I think. I wanna say this lure is a 7" Shellback Customs but I'm not sure; I got it in a trade last season but I don't remember what it was. I've got a 6" Shellback and this lure's design is about the same. Anybody know otherwise or recognize this bait? Also, after I got these fish I tried to google Shellback Customs but I can't find a thing--is he still pouring them?
