I'm sure this topic has been done before but why not do another thread. I was wondering what your first high dollar swimbait was that started you down the path of expensive swimbaits. Mine was a fish30acre Money Shad I got from a fellow member @NigelBBassin78when I first joined the forum.

As others have implied, “expensive” is a relative term. To me at a young age, anything I had to buy and couldn’t find discarded on the bank was expensive. I saved up my pennies to purchase a Sebile Magic Swimmer 95 used off of eBay for $4. That became my most prized bait and I still have it today.

The most expensive I’ve thrown after that was a deps 250 and baitsmith magnum.

Mine was a Deps 250 probably 2010- 2012ish whenever they were the holy grail. My buddy was friends with Matt Paino and got us a few. I ended up with a trout and flash carp. Took one out to my dads pond that had a few 5-8lb bass in it. The first few casts every fish in the pond came out to look at it. I thought “this is going to be insane “. Well the first time to Clear Lake and second cast she goes into orbit. I was so sick I couldn’t even tie the other one on. Ended up selling it to another buddy and got enough to cover both. Didn’t buy anything that didn’t float for a long time.

A couple of OG HPH’s that cost $175 ea. I thought it was stupid money back then. I don’t even know how many I’ve owned at this point. Really regret selling any of the early models now. Awesome baits. Now $175 seems like a bargain compared to what I spend on certain baits.
