carsonp860
I apologize in advance for talking non-swim baits but I figured this is the only acceptable place to do it. Looking for a good jerkbait reel, going on the mega bass levante jerkbait rod. Preferably not over 300 bucks, but hit me with your best shot anyway I guess. Thanks
jp_midwest
I don’t own it but it looks good but the chronarch mgl Or the tatula sv which is cheaper I don’t own any but just watching vids and all

Bass_blaster
I use a bantam mgl. Retail is over $300 but you can find them for $300 or less. Tank of a reel since it’s all aluminum and it’s very smooth and nice to use.
LightsOutLitch
I would go curado 70 MGL for sure. It’s like 220, compact, fairly light. I have the old model and with 12 lb flouro it bombs. New one should be awesome. carsonp860
PKNNH
Steez. OG or TW. Both are fantastic.
Bsampson
I have run a number of reels for rip baits, and the best for me has been the SLX DC. Especially if you change your baits a lot varying sizes and weights. Hmoob
Secretly Beloved
I know the Shimano Aldebaran bfs is out of the price range you stated but it's the best reel for it. Love the reel on my Megabass destroyer Oneten special. The Chronarch MGL also amazing option. carsonp860
Jordan B
They have the slx mgl now too if you’re really budget conscious. carsonp860
SVT THUNDER
The only thing that even mattered to me about the reel I used when throwing a jerkbait was the retrieve speed. Any good 150 - 200 size reel works just fine. Just make sure you have the speed to pick up slack line quickly. Doesn’t have to be a burner. 26 - 31 IPT is fine. carsonp860
Born 2 fish
I use a Lews tournament pro lfs for my jerkbait’s I love it and can cast a 1/2 oz jerkbait a mile.
Adusak
I use a 2017 shimano scorpion dc. It's nice to have the dc when casting into the wind. You can find the 17 scorpion for a pretty good deal now that the 2021 scorpion is out. carsonp860
