FS: Brand new 12.5 Sly Guy Rainbow and Kokanee
Low&Slow and 12 others reacted to Delta_fisher for a topic
first off..... checking if the baits are really there? Did you think the bait maker wasn’t going to actually include them? secondly... it’s painfully apparent your trying to profit off these. The ethical thing to do would be let people purchase the baits who will use them. Not buying them to flip them. This was just a “spontaneous” thought13 points -

Let me start off by saying thank you to everyone who wanted to be involved and offering feedback/input! Please sign up on this thread before January 5th, 2020, a simple "I'm in" works great. We did this last year and it was a great time, lots of info being shared, new ideas, old baits reworked, new baits developed etc. Here the official rules/guidelines for the swap, please read them thoroughly and sign up if you agree to all the terms. 2020 Swimbait Swap Details & Rules Start Date: January 5th, 2020 Finish Date: April 4th, 2020 Objective: All builders who sign up are to build ONE HARD BAIT each in the 3 month time frame. This can be a new design, an old design, a tweak on an existing bait, etc. as long as you made it and is to be completed by April 4th, 2020. I would like to put emphasis on making sure your bait swims and isn’t a dud, no one wants to get a paper weight. The bait can be any style/variety as long as it is a hard bait. Finished bait weight should be within reason, as most guys aren't throwing 9-15oz. baits regularly. HARD BAITS ONLY: Material can be any medium, wood, resin, pvc, plastic Please use this thread to post progress of your build, ask suggestions, get advice etc, this should also be a fun build and a learning experience. Please give a full description of the bait, weight, length, what line/rod, retrieve/how you fish it with so everyone knows if that bait will fit they're fishing style/waters/techniques. PLEASE DO NOT PICK A BAIT YOUR ROD CAN'T HANDLE OR YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF FISHING! THERE WILL BE NO SELLING/TRADING OF A BAIT YOU GET FROM THIS SWAP! Please build a bait you’d be proud to have someone fish! Swap Rules: All names will go into an online auto pick generator. That way there will be no issues with who goes first, second etc. I’ll film it in real time and post it. After the swap order is determined, you will get to pick the bait of your choosing. Please pick the bait you’ll actually fish, this benefits the builder with feedback and constructive criticism, and will benefit you with a bait you’ll want to fish. I know everyone might not get there first choice, second choice or even third choice, that’s just the way it works. We will use this thread to keep everyone updated on the build progress and to get feedback along the way. Like if you are building or tuning a glide and having issues, ask the group for help/suggestions as someone might be able to quickly correct the issue without you having to go thru multiple failures. Personally I’ve cut down my learning curve by learning from guys that have more experience than me and asking questions, without asking for a handout. Please read this line -> if you fail to complete the bait by the deadline, you will forfeit the opportunity to swab baits. Once all the baits are picked, it will be you and builders job to send private messages and get the address of where it needs to be shipped. The shipping charges should be pretty even across the board. If you see a bait (baits) you’re really interested in and want to own, but might not get because of pick order, I suggest contacting the builder to see if you guys can arrange a private swap/buy/trade separate from the main swap. Any builders can work out side trades or sales privately thru messages. I expect nothing but great things from the swap and the guys involved. If for whatever reason, you feel cheated/picked on or overly criticized send me a message, I don’t see it happening but covering bases. After everyone receives their baits we’ll start a new thread called 2020 SU Swimbait Swap Catches, that we can all post in to see the baits getting fished, how they are holding up, performing, etc. We did that last season but never really took off and only a few pics got posted as most guys are actually out fishing and this forum seems to slow way down. I also really like the idea of doing our own swap tournament like the SU style, date to be determined, open to ideas as a group. Thanks in advance to everyone who got involved and making this the 2nd Annual Grassroots Swap! Chef Chris2 points

Probably not hard to subtract the weight of the eight from their weight. Also, Instagram isn’t exactly known for honesty and unbiased information...y’know?2 points

Why the ball grip?
CaliBassin and one other reacted to danthefisherman for a topic
I used to be against the "ball grip" handle style, but now I really like them for their larger size. It's just an easier shape to grip with my whole hand without having to worry about slipping so much...especially in wet weather.2 points -
WTS/WTT OG Deps 250 "Damson" Trout painted and tuned by BassJak
ThinkBass11 reacted to Badfish562 for a topic
Hey SU, I have an OG Deps 250 slide swimmer in the "Damson" Trout colorway both painted and tuned by BassJak. Modified to an XXS sink. Minimal use, no rash, and no serious wear. Only thrown a couple trips. Only looking to get what I've put into this bait: $280 OBO. PM me with offers or inquiries. If sold, F&F paypal or add fees. Lowballers will be ignored. I am only willing to trade for a 13" Hiroshima Trout or a 11" 3-hook Hiroshima Trout.1 point -
WTT HAMA tk
VolunteerSwimbaits reacted to Mossypumpkin for a topic
Looking to trade this Hama Flash Tk for a Magma, Red Tiger, Tokyo Gold or possibly a bluegill. This is a Lo float. Only looking to trade for another Lo float Tk. I can make up the difference for a bait in better shape with cash. Not looking to sell or for any other bait. Bait will come with stock tail and lip. Lip has one broken tab, but I fished a deep lip for a full season with a broken tab and never had an issue.1 point -

PB Largemouth on Swimbait
Alex reacted to Owen_Swimbaits for a topic
I made a commitment a year ago that I would throw a big bait at least once everytime I went fishing. I took this commitment serious and look what happened, an 8#3OZ pb. On top of that, I caught a 5 pounder just before I caught this guy. I'm officially hooked on swimbaits.1 point -

316 8” trout split rings
Millerst12 reacted to BigOPigSlayer for a topic
Hey Steve - on your 3:16 FS Trout 8” you want to use the Owner Hyper Wire Split Rings preferably in #5 (60 lb test) #6 (70 lb test) or #7 (80 lb test) depending on what you’re fishing for brother. Hope this information helps!1 point -
Yep. Hair pulling. Idk why they do it. Also bad with glide baits.1 point

Tournament question? Are guys seriously weighing fish with baits in there mouths
basssavage24/7 reacted to waynem for a topic
In order to tare the scale you need to remove the bait from the bass, tare the scale with the bait, put the bait back in the fish's mouth, and then weigh it. I'm sure some people will do that to get a good picture of a trophy with the bait, but there are probably plenty of guys who just want to get the higher weight on the scale. Bassmaster magazine has a Lunker Club page where you can get your photo posted with a LM over 10# or a smallie over 6#. Most of the fish are obviously legit but there are plenty of examples of people who are exaggerating the weight WAY over reality. One of the recent ones showed a guy with a smallie that might not even make 3 pounds never mind 6. Legends in their own minds.1 point -

I have the XXH and I love it. The only part I don't like is I left it in my truck over the summer a few times. The carbon fiber on the reel seat screw came unglued. Had to super glue it back. Also the tips are a lil funky and actually look bent, but they are not.1 point -
