  1. Friend of a friend has a suprise spit up in his livewell. I think there are a lot of folks who hear bass eat this or that, but don’t believe it until they see it. I say this because I used to be that guy years ago, til I seen a 7 pounder eat a couple baby ducks 20 yards from the boat. It definitely helps build your confidence.

  3. Not a giant but it was awesome to get my first fish on a legit big bait on a lake as well. Threw the 8in magdraft all day around docks and this one came screaming out and crushed it at the boat. Also got bit on a sneaky pete glide but didn’t hook up. Broke in the brand new Curado 300k as well.

  6. *|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* Personal Best: Fall is one of those times of year that the swimbait angler patiently waits for hoping to find their fish of a lifetime. Early last month @SkagitBasser was out for a quick lunch break trip when this Washington state double digit ascended from some deep timber to crush his Wade Hoggs. Congratulations on your new state Personal Best! Head over to the PB section to view other member's achievements. Personal Best SUTV: Last month @BassJunkie shared a cast to catch of a chunky NJ largie. After struggling to find a bite out on his kayak, he threw on his Yohan glide bait and tricked one into eating. Follow the link below to see more videos from our members in the SUTV section. SUTV Got'em: @Swimbautubgtge229 went out fishing with his son and let him try the Bull rat. He ended up sticking a decent one as his first swimbait fish. Thanks for sharing and hopefully this is his first of many swimbait fish to come. Share your own stories and read about other's at the Got'em section linked below. Got'em Flipside: @Porkmeatballs and his brother had recently been fishing and learning a nearby river system. During their six hour trip they had a few dinks under their belt but were looking for a higher quality bite. While working the shoreline he got the bite he was looking for twitching his homemade Bravo Trout. We are always excited to see what kind of fish our members hook into using swimbaits in the Flipside section. Flipside View full record

  7. Guys, be aware. Was in contact with the seller yesterday and he acted a bit suspicious. Also when I offered personal pick up, I have not heard back from him. I might be wrong, just want to give everybody a heads up.

  15. It's a close tie between the Balam and the Triple Trouts for the best multi-jointed "ripping" bait. The Balam might be the sexier of the two but the TT is tuned to a T. Lot of newer folks sleep on them as they look pretty crude and clunky, but the action on them is perfect. Scott doesn't have to run an ad campaign to ensure that his baits sell. They fly off the site like hot cakes.

  16. I had a few of them cause I saw how effective they could be in the southern trout eaters dvd when i started in 2014. i've had stubbys to some of the big giant floaters and never caught anything on em. This is 100% my own fault as I never really gave them a chance and other baits worked better in my waters one morning i was throwing a floating 10" (beautiful bait that rbtek1 painted) had zero fish action on it, fished it every way i could from burning to slow crawl, and nothing, put it down, picked up a 9" slammer and threw it into the same areas and stuck fish. maybe they didnt want it that day or whatever but i just never had any luck on em. I tried em over the years here and there but again nothing, i also mostly fish dark/low light conditions so that plays a factor as well. did just pick up that floating bleeding trout in the blackmarket so ill give em another go next season as i have a better plan for it than i did years ago.

  24. Hey SU, I have the following three rods available for purchase. I built these over the last couple months in the hopes of thinning out some of the blanks and parts I have compiled throughout the process of learning to build rods. Feel free to hit me up wit any questions. Prices are TYD shipped USPS with insurance for full value paid. PayPal F&F or add 4% for fees The rods top to bottom are as follows: 1. (Top) Perfectionist nightmare – 350 This rod was built with heavy duty use in mind. It feels heavy in hand but is perfectly balanced with my Ryoga 2020 on it. I use this blank for my single hook bottom contact baits up to an 8” hudd. Will work great for anything in the 3-6 oz range (I know the blank is only rated to 5 but I’ve pushed it and it’s fine) a. Blank = Phenix Ultra Swimbait Classic 7’11” MH 1-5 oz b. Butt cap = Matagi weight adjustable butt cap system c. Grip = 13.75 from butt cap to base of reel seat - Carbon fiber to eva with soft touch heat shrink (this is where the perfectionists nightmare comes in: the eva I used was a piece of black/grey glued foam and during application the black and grey must have separated slightly at one joint under the heat shrink. You can feel the raised bump where the separation occurred and I guess kind of see it. The grip integrity is 100% solid I tried to separate it further and squeezed the hell out of it, it’s solid. Honestly it won’t impact a damn thing on the rod, but I can feel it and couldn’t sell it without disclosing the blemish). Okay, moving on. d. Reel seat = Alps aluminum single trigger dual locking nut e. Foregrip = Eva tapered f. Hook keeper = traditional double foot “large” g. Aluminum trim throughout (mostly matagi trim) h. Guides = Fuji K frame black alconite double foot all the way up: guide sizes 12, 10, and then 8’s th rest of the way, - Spiraled RIGHT i. Tip = Fuji MNT black alconite 8 j. Total weight = 12.4 oz k. Note: if it weren’t for the blemish mentioned above in ‘c’ I would be selling this rod for 450. 2. (middle) Black and Blue – 350 This rod will be great for small glides, middle range topwaters, and bigger a-rigs. I’ve thrown up to a 6” punker on this blank and loved it. I really like it for rats. It can handle more than 2 oz for sure (I’ve thrown a workhorse on it before when I didn’t have a larger rod with me, though I did underhand lob it, lol). This rod is slightly tip heavy because of the ultra classic blank and adding more weighted discs to the butt cap was just too much; when I say slightly, I mean very slightly. Most probably wouldn’t feel it, but again I’d rather disclose what I feel than hold it back. a. Blank = Phenix ultra swimbait classic 7’11” ML 1-2 oz b. Butt cap = Matagi weight adjustable butt cap system c. Grip = 13.5” from butt cap to base of reel seat - dual contoured eva split grip d. Reel seat = Alps tex touch soft touch with locking nut e. Foregrip = EVA tapered f. Hook keeper = American tackle extra large (this is a big hook keeper as you can see, I personally love it and use it on all my swimbait rods) g. Aluminum trim throughout (mostly matagi trim) h. Guides = Fuji K frame black alconite double foot for the spiral 12, 10, 8, 8; single foot 8 runners – Spiraled RIGHT i. Tip = Fuji MNT black alconite 8 j. Total weight = 8.2 oz 3. (bottom) Black and silver – 275 This rod is super light for a swimbait rod, even with the larger guides on it. I haven’t fished this blank a lot except for a production model. I’ve heard it’s excellent for topwaters, A-rigs etc… in hand, I think it would be perfect for small weedless soft baits like a hudd 68 or mag-draft on a beast hook. It feels pretty versatile, but I can’t speak a ton to it’s real wheelhouse because I don’t have the experience to back it up. Though I can say that after building it out, I plan on building myself one down the line for larger A-rigs smaller freestyle baits, anything that I’m chucking and winding a bunch. a. Blank = Phenix M1 Inshore 7’11” 1-3 oz b. Butt cap = Matagi weight adjustable butt cap system c. Grip = 13.25” from butt cap to base of reel seat - dual tapered eva split grip d. Reel seat = Alps tex touch (NOT soft touch) with locking nut e. Foregrip = EVA tapered f. Hook keeper = traditional double foot “large” g. Aluminum trim throughout (mostly matagi trim) h. Guides = Fuji K frame black alconite double foot for the spiral 12, 10, 8, 8; single foot 8 runners – Spiraled LEFT i. Tip = Fuji MNT black alconite 8 j. Total weight = 7.0 oz

  26. Hi all, just received the Destroyer P5 Tequila Baccarac from Megabass (was a warranty replacement, where I switched it from an Onager, to avoid the breakage issue that the current Onager rods experience). Just took it out of the tube to check it. Wholy moly is this thing light for a extra heavy rod (3/4-4oz). Please take it off my hands otherwise I might find a spot for it in my aresnal and I really told myself to sell this one to fund some other projects. Offering the rod for 450USD shipped and insured or 430 USD local pick up (will include the tube as well).

In my hometown we have an insane homeless population, like think San Francisco's tenderloin district but on the river. Growing up we used to fish and hunt this stretch of river on the edge of town for giant pike and bass, deer and pheasants. there used to be a few guys like four or five, living down there but they were few enough and safe enough it wasn't a problem. Now in 2020 there's over a few thousand people living down there. If you're homeless anywhere in Idaho or Montana our city government will give free bus or plane tickets to move to our "luxurious" shelters. Which are ridiculously crowded and constantly getting expanded. Down on the river there's trucks and trailers, dozens of tents, trenches of human waste below the high water mark (courtesy of the city), and we've even had two meth lab explosions. one of which happened while I was fishing there. where you used to fish pads there's now floes of trash, where you used to fish timber and brush there's submerged shacks and shopping carts. most people stopped fishing the area in 2015 after the city deemed the area "property of the department of transportation" because there were a couple stabbings and muggings in the area. But there's massive bass and pike down there and not a five minute drive away. So I still fish down there frequently. though in 2018 while fishing the area I had a backpack of baits, camera, scale, measuring tape and food get nabbed while I was landing a pike. If you fall in the water with a backpack, you sink. without it you can still swim. so I left it on top of the embankment and slid down the bank to grab my fish. when I came up all my ish was gone. A pain in the dick and an expensive mistake on my part, though realistically, that's a best case scenario. we've had multiple stabbings and muggings in the area and you frequently find discarded purses and backpacks in the trash heaps. I even got mine back about six months later (empty) and still use it! Now I always carry when I'm fishing the area and try and pack out some trash when I can.

  31. I had my first "good" day swimbait fishing with the 6" TT. I was still very new to fishing bigger baits and had no idea what I was doing or that the TT was meant to be fished faster. It was a cold overcast day and very windy, and I was whacking fish by crawling the bait so slowly over grass that it wasn't even swimming right.
