Looks like a great trip. Congratulations.
  2. Great idea. Look like a large tadpole.
  3. Hey, looks like a good concept. I wonder if a slightly flatter and wider tail would add to the "glide"? Good luck with it.
  4. A few years ago I got an offer to buy 13 foot aluminum v hull from a family friend. While it came with outboard and trolling motor for $400. I upgrade trolling motor, added a fish finder and add a casting deck that goes from the v to the first bench seat. It's a great little boat very happy with it. I would like to eventually upgrade the outboard dated 1968, but all things in due time. I see if I can dig up a photo.
  5. I caught a few nice fish on my Osprey LT before hanging it up. I purchased a RS and caught a nice fish first time out, so they both have worked for me.
  6. Great job! Nice fish.
  7. I always assumed it was to let the water out that got in-between the skin and body, but that was just my assumption.
  8. SU, not sure how or why this post duplicated. Please delete extra post. Thanks!
  9. So went out last night . Started with R.S. T.H. and Deps 175 SS on some smaller water. I got no love in the first two hours , so I went Keitech and with in first few cast got a hit but missed it, I made the same cast and tap, tap , fish on! I got it to the shoreline but tried to swing it and it came unbuttoned! It looked to be around 3 1/2. A couple of cast later my rod just loaded up and I set into the 5 1/2 pounders in the photo. A few more cast and I hooked the smaller fish on the photos, didn't bother to scale it. A few minutes later I got a tap, tap and fish on! I fought it for a few seconds , it ran right towards me and it came unbuttoned. While I wish I had a better land ratio, I'll take the bites as this lake I was fishing can be hit or miss.
  10. Well, all the proportions might not be perfect and the wood I used is very heavy, but I have weight and waterproofed my rat and it swims straight and wakes really nice. Going to take it out test fish it soon.
  11. You are not alone. I'm trying to make the swimbait conversion, but I still will sometimes bring a conventional rod with a big worm, jig or topwater. I have my shutouts , but I have a one over six and one over seven recently. I try to keep the quality over quantity thought process. Yes, my friends may catch 8 , 2 pounders, but I'd rather catch one 6 pounder. For me I feel like I just have to refine my swimbait process.
