At $25 it seems like a decent bait but i've never thrown one are they any good? Should I replace the hooks? What issues do you have and what mods do you make to it? What would be your got to rod and line for it and how would you work it most effectively? Im grabbing one in baby bass and im terrified of losing it even though its a cheaper bait, obviously i will still fish it where it needs to be fished, how would you avoid snags and how would would the hooks bend out if i get it stuck? What are good hooks that would also bend out when using enough pressure but not on a fish? Thanks for any info.

I have been fishing the same lake in Connecticut for about 5 years. I dabbled in the swimbait game here and there the past coupe years, but now I am throwing swimbaits about 90% of the time. It paid off big time. 2 weeks ago caught my 1st ever 8" huddleston bass, which was a 4 pound smallmouth. And 2 weeks later (today) I caught another 4 pound smallmouth (both 4.0 oz on the dot!) on the 175 deps slideswmmer. I have not caught a smallmouth that big in years. Cant wait to see what this fall brings!

Caught this fish on an OG deps 250 Slideswimmer in Butch Brown natty trout. The lake had a fresh trout plant and I saw some of the locals catching trout by a wood fence and they said every time they bring a trout up this bass follows it all the way to the shore. First casts at the spot the fish bit on 2 consecutive casts with a Huddleston than after that nothing. Just as I'm about to leave the lake I decide to head back to the spot and stick a 4.7 pound largemouth. Not bad for a few hours Rod: Dobyns 807 Reel: Daiwa Lexa 300 6.4:1 Line:Pline Cxx 25lb Moon: Full moon, age 16 days Wind: Blowing from west Weather: Sun with some clouds Thanks SU!
