The past couple of trips have been lonely for my swimbaits. The crankbaits get plenty of action being the easy little skanks they are, but I’ve only had a few passes at the classy big baits. That changed today when I found some fish in a creek channel from 5-12’ deep. They’d eaten the crank last time, so I put it away and threw the Bullshooter I got almost a year ago from Top Ramen (awesome dude to buy from). Got this one, then another one about the same size threw the hook right at the kayak. One more hit it but didn’t stick. Hope you got out after Thanksgiving and stuck a few!

I hate when the peacocks are hugging the wall I’m standing on. Makes for some interesting fishing. It’s always weird to pitch a swimbait ahaha Enjoy the video let me know what you think! please ignore me talking to the peacocks and my voice I’m getting over a cold! Somewhat new to SU but I'm an avid big bait guy from San Diego. I've been overseas in the military for 3 years and made a trip to tokyo last year and purchased some swimbaits that I sent back to SD. Ill be home mid december and am looking to buy or trade some more swimbaits for this season. I haven't been able to fish for way too long and am looking forward to getting back in it. I am looking for some decent priced 250's and maybe a hinkle trout or shad or some phoneys. Anything really. I have cash and baits for trade. My father has all the baits I got from Tokyo in SD, I have some silent killers, bull shooter, bassroid, monster jack, hudds, wood rats, geecrach gill, biovex gill, gancraft s caper, ect., I will have him send me pics of them all, and maybe we can get some trades going. Let me know if you are interested or possibly have baits you are willing to trade/sell. I have a Japanese cell phone and works free from iPhone to iPhone 09019432601, or you can just email me at kwmoore20@gmail.com.

Hey I'm just starting out throwing big baits and need some advice. 95 percent of of the bodies of water I fish have bluegill as the only forage and 5 percent are primarily BG with a small population of shad. I was gifted with the opportunity to get the bull shooter and/or slide swimmer 175 for $50 a piece. I was wondering which to purchase first or if there was another bait in the $50 range that i was overlooking (ie Bullgill)

Want to sell this Deps Bullshooter 160 (I am not sure who painted it, received in a trade last fall, other guy got it locally from a man who paints them himself, paint has held up phenomenally) No lip weight came with it, but is tunable with hooks, With the quads I received it is a slow sink, But I will throw in other hooks to make it a XSS or suspend. (Along with the quads of course) PM offers, open to trades but cash takes priority.

First fish of the year and cold weather at that! Finally got one on the Deps Bullshooter! Well kinda little guy followed the Deps 160 and then I dropped the senko in to finish him off. Had a lot of followers on this big bait, working it slow about 7 handle turns, then giving it 2 quick handle turns and pause. I'm still working getting 'em to commit but it's fun learning.

Hey everyone I'm still new to the swimbait game and been trying to read up and learn as much as I can about big baits! I have gift cards to Cabela's ($170) and Bass Pro ($125) and was wondering from your experience which is better to get a rod and a reel from. I have cards for the amounts listed, I can add more $ with some budgeting and time. I have bought a few large swimbaits and love to throw them. So far I have Deps Bullshooter 160's and Jr, Bulldozer 160, and SS 175. I also have a few S-wavers and black dog baits shellcracker and shellcracker G2. My current hardware is limited. I have a Cabela's Tournament Trail rod weighted for 3/4 - 2 1/4 oz. This rob is more than maxed out with my current baits and I need to move to a better setup. I also have an older Abu Garcia 6600 that was previously used to salt water fish but I've restored it for swimbaits. I am looking to invest in a rod that can throw Deps 250's and Bullshooter 190's as well as the current baits I have. So a rod in the 2-8 oz range would be perfect. Also should I buy a different reel or keep the Abu Garcia? I think it's a 6600 and 5:2:1 gear ratio. I don't have a lot of $ and would like to use the gift cards. I've researched their websites and BPS seems pretty slim, Cabela's is more promising but expensive. Saw the Okuma SST at Cabela's and BPS had a St. Croix Legend which is $290 and rated 1-4 oz. I'm down here in eastern NC if anyone local has any advice. Which baits, time of year, color, technique, anything is welcome. I mainly bank fish in small to medium bodies of water. Had some luck on swimbaits but haven't had the tools to really see what I can catch with them.
