Greetings Looking for some feedback from people who've fished BOTH reels, or at the very least have some good water time with the new Tranx 300 size. Both are running about the same price on flea bay, and the Curado obviously has more used inventory as well as searchable anecdotal reviews/opinions.

I know that there are advertised swimbait/bigbait feels out there, and they work. I was wondering what makes them different from a normal baitcaster like a lowprofile. Is it the gears, drag, components, line capacity, being a round reel or not. For ex: Tranx vs. normal low profile, what’s the difference? I was also wondering about is anyone had tried KastKing rovers for swimbaits, I may give it a shot. Thank you!

Hey all - First post here after reading through countless threads about swimbait rods and reels - tons of great information. I decided on the 2018 St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass 7'10" H/F which is rated for 1-4oz baits. I plan to throw an assortment of jig-hook baits as well as small to mid-size treble-hook baits (mainly glides, including my own handcrafts from 4ish to 1oz like this one). I'm wondering if the Shimano Tranx 300A (5.8:1, 30" IPT) is a good choice to pair with this rod and the 'smaller' baits I may throw on it. The SuperDuty Wide Spool, Tatula HD, and Lexa 300 HD have all caught my attention as well, but I can get my hands on a new Tranx for about $80 under retail. Thanks for any help.

Hey, I'm relatively new to swimbaiting and have decided on the tranx 300 to take over as my primary swimbait reel. However, I haven't decided on a gear ratio. This reel will throw a wide range of swimbaits from glides, to tt's, to jig hook baits such as the hudd and osprey. This reel will also pull double duty in the inshore salt throwing topwater and ripping plugs. Any response would be appreciated, thanks.

Have the 301 and love it but Looking to get a longer handle and some nice eva knobs. I can't find if it's the standard shimano shaft size and what I would need for knobs like bearings or not ect. Any info or direction would be nice! Thanks SU.
